Atheism Article: Why I converted to Atheism

This is ALL made up but conversation is possable and in some cases has happened*

A woman was walking down the rue when she saw a man lire the bible.

Woman:Why are toi lire that?

Man:*looks up* Because I'm Christian

Woman:Why are toi Christian?

Man:*shrugs* Because God is the creator of all things.

Woman:*smirks* Oh really? Are toi sure about that?

Man:*nods*

Woman:*sits suivant to him* What about bananas? They are made par people.

Man:They are?

Woman:*nods* And our words, are the words we speak to communicate to one another made par him?

Man:No, but when I ment created all things I ment objects.

Woman:Like girls?

Man:Yeah.

*The woman slaps him on the face and leaves but they run into each other about an heure later because the man is apparentally the woman's neighbor. The man invites the woman over for brunch, chat and to appologise*

Man:Okay, let me re-phrase that. I ment no.

Woman:Okay then, let's continue.

Man:*nods*

Woman:So toi say god created all objects and life forms like the trees, poisson and water, right?

Man:*nods again*

Woman:Did toi know that all of them are linked to one clan that almost all things are made with.

Man:What?

Woman:Water. Water is what is all of us. Though nothing is 100% water, not even water itself, it is still what is the solid grasp of life.

Man:I thought sex was

Woman:Actually, sex is 4th. After water, new life through no life and automatic reproduction.

Man:Okay, okay, I get it. Now tell me, toi say your an atheist, right? Tell me something that might convert me, if I am not satisfied with your answers, then I stay catholic.

Woman:*nods* Deal

Man:First...?

Woman:Can toi use any of your sences for God?

Man:No

Woman:Is it true that the old testament that was a dit to have been writen par God himself, a dit to mame and kill others and that his word was perfect?

Man:Yes

Woman:Has God ever been spotted seen in the clouds?

Man:No

Woman:Has God ever helped those who where about to die and prayed for him?

Man:No, none that I know of

Woman:Have we ever been encuraged to go to war because of God?

Man:We still are

Woman:Is it true that humans contain animal genes?

Man:Yes

Woman:Can toi explain how God was created if he didn't exist and had no capability whatsoever until after he was created?

Man:No, I can't explain it

Woman:Then why believe in something that nothing
can explain yet can explain anything else?

Man:*Pauses for a moment* Just do. I just have faith in the unknown.

Woman:Exactly

misanthrope86 Hmmmm... so this is a "made up", "possible", "has happened" conversation? Ha ha. I'm not sure exactly what your point is here, especially since your title gives the impression that you are going to talk about why [i]you[/i] converted to Atheism... Not sure if that is really how a conversation would actually go either. Certainly not in my experience.

DragonsArt *sigh* even when the puzle pieces are gapped right in front of you, you could not piece them together. LostKid could not understand why to have faith in something that could not possably be. And that is why she's Athiest. You have to grasp the point of the situation to understand it.

My comment was an attempt to engage in a discussion with LostKid about her article and her Atheism. This article is not written very clearly and it seems to be a little rude about religious [i]people[/i], not religion itself. So I wanted to see if I could get a little more information about LostKid's thoughts. I was doing so in a polite way and to provoke debate. Thanks for insulting me, DragonsArt.

misanthrope86 1) I never said anything about you being a boy or a girl... 2) You implied that I was dumb by suggesting that I didn't or couldn't understand this article. 3) Ok then. 4) I actually can't read that sentence because it doesn't make sense. Are you trying to say that she used a man and a woman to signify the oppression that the Christian religion imposes upon women? I totally agree with and understand that sentiment.

misanthrope86 Dude, I am an Atheist. Have been all my life and will probably never be anything but. What on earth gave you the impression that I was a Christian?!

DragonsArt Her parents are trying to force her to be Christian, mine too, and not many kids in her school aren't vergins, but less than half from mine are (I'm 14, LostKid is 13). But what brought be and her together as friends on the situatiob is that both of us have been mostly raised as Christians

misanthrope86 Ok... Doesn't explain why you think I'm a Christian though... And your comment does not link to our conversation at all... Anyway, keep in mind that at your age, lots of people SAY that they have had sex when they actually haven't. People think they need to have had sex to fit in, so they will tell people that they have had sex when they haven't. I don't know why you brought sex and virginity into this conversation, but it is important to remember that teens often lie about their sexual activity because they believe that they need to in order to fit in and be seen as participating in more grown-up activities. I suggest that other people's sexual activity is not really your concern, only your own activity should be important to you.

Dragonclaws It's a little naive. Christians post similar things about converting people to Christianity. This is a tract. Real people have dialogs and rarely decide they're wrong.

darkkhorn19 whoever started such controversy such as Christian religion must be perfect, because we all sin, my family says that I will burn in hell, but I say "Okay, I'll be willing to work alongside Satan and the Dark Empire or whatever, my grandfather threw "Holy" water and continously chanted "The power of Christ compells you" i said "Christ does not exsist, nor did" :D Life is splendid with so much ignorance...

I'm not sure whether to tell toi my emidiate feeling when I meet an Athiest, because it's probably the most patronising, horrible thing for me to feel in their eyes, but I honestly can't help how I feel. Please don't kill me, because I AM awear that the stuff I say can sound patronising, I just don't know how else to say it... If I ask toi for one thing it's that toi DON'T read this trying to look for an argument, ou for fault, ou to oppose it completely - but that toi have an open mind.

I don't want to convert you. toi have free will for a reason and you've chosen not to believe - but I want...

Kinda Pointless.

A few weeks il y a at my workplace I was approached par a very visible, though homeless, religious man. He asked me if I were religious in which I replied with a nonchalant "No."

From there it seemed as if all hell was breaking loose. He started badgering me and saying that because I was baptized as a small child I'm ultimately "damned to Hell" for my "families mistakes".

Perhaps I should have just upped and walked away.. but for one, I was never in this particular situation, and since he was a paying customer, I sort of felt compelled to put up with his bullshit because I didn't want him to cause...
