Has anyone ever wondered about how closely related Rozen Maiden and Konjiki no Gash cloche, bell are?

Rozen Maiden's about poupées trying to become (pretty much) the fairest of them all and Gash cloche, bell is about little people named mamodos who try to become the King. Anyone else think they're similar?
