Have toi ever witnessed a real-life reference to an animé ou a specific animé character?

I was flipping channels last week and found this commercial on the Hallmark channel for a lingerie brand called Soma Intimates. For some reason, it made me think of Prince Soma from Kuroshitsuji. XD Gotta l’amour the otaku brain.

Hanamichi Sakuragi (Slam Dunk) is actually based from a real Japanese basketball, basket-ball player which has the same name (his name is Hanamichi Sakuragi also) He was born on 1960's but died at the young age of 18 because of a terrible accident.

The mangaka of Slam Dunk was inspired par his story and named the protagonist of his manga after him.
