"I Am The Best," which is arguably 2NE1\'s most popular song thus far (at least in terms of YouTube view count and people\'s widespread knowledge of it), has popped up once again in the western hemisphere, this time for a choreography video orchestrated by Janelle Ginestra.

"I Am The Best" was used for a short video featuring talented young dancers

Larsen Thompson and Taylor Hatala showcasing powerful moves choreographed by Janelle Ginestra. "I\'m the Best" plays in the background for a short 40-something seconds, to which the dancers execute swift, almost knife-like sharp choreography. 

The costumes the girls are wearing during the part of 2NE1\'s song (starting at 1:30 in video above) seems to be distinctly \'Asian\' but not \'Korean\' including buns decorated with chopsticks, a Hanfu-inspired crop top, and simple black skirt and sandals. The makeup also derives some inspiration from the traditional Japanese style of cosmetics. 

The usage of the song clearly denotes 2NE1\'s international popularity; if one recalls, the song was also used in the past year for Microsoft\'s Surface Pro 3 commercial.

BUT, if any Korean Idol solo singer, rapper, or group gets the "World Fame" aka American Debut, they won\'t be any different from Justin Beiber, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande and One Direction.They\'ll start making the same music, the same music videos and wearing the same fashion. Also, their popularity as a Hyulla wave Korean Idol group will NOT exist because it\'s a whole new market. ONLY the NICHE group of K-Pop fans in America will know about them.

Plus, imagine this: People actually take interest in K-pop, but ONLY because it\'s POPULAR. After about 2 years, you play 2NE1 "I Am The Best" and the same people that were telling you that K-pop is awesome will say "The hell, K-pop is such an old thing, why do you listen to it? It\'s not a TREND anymore".

As a dancer myslef, I think the concept behid it was great the choreography was very very nice but the execution of them was wrong. mixing chinese and korean was very awkward for me to watch and the dancing was not that great. The idea was great tho. Just an example that HD won\'t make your video the best

I wish people would stop using Kpop to get attention. It\'s super annoying! I remember when one of the previews for the movie "Pitch Perfect 2" used only 20 to 30 seconds Big Bang\'s Fantastic Baby just to get V.I.P fangirls to increase their views on Youtube.

Im glad that \'i am the best\' is getting popular but asia is sooooo big.. Why western people only think asia is only east asia? Arab countries are asia. Thailand indonesia etc are south east asia. India bangladesh etc are south asia. \'Stereotype\' asia makes it look huft..

I love how South Korea, and Asia in general is extremely racist (see commonly used black face), but the moment these girls use Asian inspired outfits they are treated like crap lmao.

From all the comments in this section, I realized people don\'t know the meaning of racism anymore. They tend to call racist anything that doesn\'t sit well with them. It\'s not like "I am the Best" is a traditional Korean song and obviously the makeup is supposed to be artsy rather than depict the heritage of 2ne1. Have you ever heard of artistic freedom?
