Chapter One-
23:56 January 17,
Mount Justice
“Recognized, Kid Flash. B-02, Artemis. B-07.”
Batman, Green Arrow, Flash, and Black Canary looked up from their conversation, wondering what the teens could possibly be doing back so early.
They got their answer when Wally stumbled out of the zeta-tube carrying an unconscious Artemis.
“What happened?” Green Arrow asked, sprinting over like the protective uncle he wasn’t.
“Explosion.” Wally gasped. “Broken leg, internal injuries.”
Green Arrow picked up Artemis and headed into the other zeta-tube.
“Recognized, Green Arrow. Black Canary. Artemis.” the computer rang out before the three were swept away to the Watchtower.
“Wally, what happened?” Batman asked.
“Poison Ivy set a bomb. Artemis went in to pull me out, got hurt bad. Oh this is my fault, all my fault.”
“Wally, stop.” Batman said, placing a hand on the teen’s shoulder.
“No, its my fault, all my fault.”
Wally kept walking around, muttering that to himself.
“How much longer?” he asked.
“They left three minutes ago.” Flash said.
Wally turned back to pacing and muttering.
Batman rolled his eyes and pulled out a needle. He injected the liquid into Wally’s arm and the junior scarlet speedster collapsed right there.
“I’ll get him checked out.” Flash said, and blurred off.

Wally awoke to the sound of the zeta-tube activating.
“Recognized. Artemis. B-07.” the computer rang out.
Wally sprang up, believing the whole ordeal to be a bad dream and ran into the zeta-room---
---to find Artemis limping in on crutches, dressed in civvies with a bandage around her head and a cast on her leg.
“Whoah.” Wally said.
“Thanks, Baywatch.” Artemis a dit as Red Tornado helped her into the living room.
The robot set her down on the canapé and after making sure she was fine, departed.
Artemis glared at the speedster. “You gonna tell me what happened?” Artemis asked.
“What?” Wally asked, dumbfounded.
“How did I get all this?” Artemis asked, gesturing at her bandages.
“Um...”
Artemis looked at him.
Wally scratched his head and looked away.
Artemis’s eyes narrowed. “Did toi do this?”
“WHAT?!” Wally exclaimed. “No, no, no, no, no.”
“Then what happened?”
“Well I sort of did...”
“What. Happened?”
“I was in a building and toi ran in to save me and got hurt. toi want some orange juice?” Wally a dit really fast.
Artemis sat for a moment, absorbing what had happened before answering “Yeah, sure. Thanks.”
Wally blurred off to the cuisine and appeared a moment later with a glass of orange juice.
Artemis looked at him funny before taking a cautious sip of the beverage.
She looked at him for a moment and drank some more. “I cant taste any poison.” she said.
“You honestly think I would do that to you?”
“Maybe.”
“Maybe? So Im out to kill you?”
“You aren’t exactly my best friend.”
“No, I guess that would be Connor.”
“No!”
“Yes!”
“No!”
“Yes!”
“Admit it, blondie. You’ve got a crush on the Boy of Steel.”
“You’ve got one on the martian. And don’t call me blondie again”
“At least I’m open about it, blondie.” Wally a dit with a smirk.
Artemis went for him, but grimaced and eased back down on the couch.
“Sorry, I-”
Wally was cut off par the resounding ‘SMACK!’ of Artemis’s crutch hitting his head.
“OW!” he said. “I was trying to apologize!”
“Right, Baywatch. And my name isn’t Artemis Crock.”
“At least my dad-” Wally cut himself off, deep in thought before coming back with a “At least I dont hit my teammates with crutches.”
“But toi hit on them.” Artemis a dit with a smirk.
“Why toi little-”
“Artemis. Wally. I am heading to the tour de guet for several hours. Will toi be okay alone?” Red Tornado asked.
Wally lowered his hand and yelled back “Yeah!” before glaring at Artemis.
“Recognized, Red Tornado.”
Artemis smirked and snapped her fingers. “More juice.”
Wally glared at her, but headed to the cuisine anyway.
