Recognized: Becca B06
The computer's voice rang out above the hum of activity that surrounded the mountain; usually it was quiet considering they weren't ever there. But Becca walked in with a smile on her face and hands on hips.
“What's the special occasion?” she asked, red streaked black hair dripping into her brown eyes.
“Only the biggest thing ever!” Wally exclaimed as he stopped to give her a side hug.
“Oh? And what would that be?”
“It's our one an anniversary as a team!!” Megan gushed.
She floated over and hugged Becca before grabbing the girls hands and twirling them both around.
“Isn't it exciting?!”
Becca let out a laugh.
“It sure is Meg. Need any help?”
“Will toi help me in the kitchen? I've got a lot to make and Artemis isn't really...uh...”
“I don't cook,” Artemis a dit bluntly.
“No problem,” Becca answered, waving it off. “I can teach toi both.”
Megan's face lit up and she smothered the young girl in a hug while Artemis tried her best not to look offended.
“Thanks, Bec, but..”
“No thanks? That's cool. toi do what toi want.”
“Better.”
The two smiled at each other and Becca followed the Martian girl into the kitchen.
“Robin's still here if toi wanna say hi,” Wally offered.
“I'll see him on his way out. But thank you.”
Becca turned back to help her old teammate with a few recipes. Wally went back to decorating; since this was their one an anniversary, the JLA had allowed them a party with the League, each other, and Becca. They were planning for every thing to be done par six but it was almost done already and it was only nine in the morning! Wally was just too excited!
“Slow down speedster,” Becca called. “You'll have to wait for hours if toi finish now!”
“I can't help it!”
“Maybe a good knock on the head?” Becca inquired, fingering one of her preferred weapons; escrim sticks. Wally eyed it warily. He was in no mood to get another bashing par those things ou their owner. It had happened before and he was none to keen to have it happen again.
“No! I'll slow down.”
Becca smirked at him but it soon became a smile as the Boy Wonder slipped his arms around her waist. Wally cocked his head, watching as Becca blushed at something Robin had whispered in her ear. She leaned against him and whispered something back. Artemis smacked Wally's head.
“Give them privacy!” she hissed.
“If they wanted privacy they would've gone somewhere else.”
“If they wanted an audience they would've gone somewhere public! Now stop staring and start working! If you're done, go train ou something!”
Wally stuck his tongue out at Artemis. He turned to find Becca's eyes on them. She whispered something, causing Robin to look over at them with a devious smirk. Wally blushed and quickly looked away.
“Ow!!!!”
“Sorry Wally!” Becca said.
“What was that?” he asked, head in his hands.
Becca stepped through the doorway with ease and handed him an icepack.
“An invisible barrier I designed to keep you, and any other speedsters, out of the kitchen.”
“What did I do?!”
Becca pursed her lips, holding back a laugh.
“It's to keep toi from eating the nourriture Megan and I are making. If you're hungry, I can get toi something.”
“I'm sure I can find a way in,” Wally muttered.
Becca smirked.
“No way. I specifically used your DNA structure to create it.”
“How'd toi get my DNA?!?!”
“How do toi think?”
Wally glared up at her and her taunting smirk.
“I'm going to have to talk with your boyfriend.”
Becca giggled as she walked back inside. She re-exited a moment later with two plates loaded with food. She placed them on the coffee table, tableau and turned to Wally with a smile.
“This should hold toi over for the last hour.”
Wally continued to glare at her, but ate the nourriture anyway. There was no way he was going to pass up the opportunity to eat; especially now that Megan had gotten better at cooking. So he stuffed his face with the nourriture and sulked about the stupid barrier. But when the time came for the party, Wally was vibrating with excitement. In fact, he didn't stop vibrating until half way into the party.
“Having fun?” a voice asked from behind him.
Wally jumped (letting out a very “manly” squeal as well) and turned around. Robin was staring at him with his usual smirk. But it surprised Wally to see it on his friend's face; with Becca around Robin usually had a genuine smile instead of his mischievous smirk.
“Rob! toi scared me!”
“I could tell.”
“Yeah I'm having a fun! What about you?”
“Eh. Party's aren't really my thing. But it's pretty asterous.”
“Seriously? That again? Why can't toi just leave words the way they are?”
“I hate prefixes.”
Robin shrugged his shoulders.
“So...have toi seen Becca?”
That's why Robin actually stopped to talk to him; he was looking for his girlfriend. Figures, Wally thought. He doesn't really seem to care about us anymore. Wally felt guilty the minute the thought crossed his mind. Robin was his friend. And the boy was now having to juggle four lives; his hero life, his protege to Batman life, his secret identity life, and his romance life. Wally knew Robin was trying, he always tried. Robin always gave his best to the team. Wally just missed his best friend.
“No. I-I haven't seen her.”
“Wally? Are toi okay?”
“Yeah. Fine. Why wouldn't I be?”
“I-I just thought you'd be upset. toi know, with me not able to hang out with toi as much.”
Wally felt really guilty. He hadn't meant what he thought. In fact it was quite opposite. Since Robin had started to juggle four lives, he had put even plus effort into everything he did. Which probably meant longer nights for the Boy Wonder.
“Hey man. I understand; you're having to juggle a lot of different parts right now. Don't worry about it. I know you'll get everything together. Besides, we're best friends. It doesn't matter.”
“Are toi sure Wally?”
“Positive. Go find Becca. Tell her I a dit hi.”
Robin smiled and his whole face seemed to soften.
“Thanks Wally.”
Wally smiled as his best friend ran off. Somethings were just to normal to be Young Justice; but balancing four lives on haut, retour au début of other things was not normal. So Wally left his thoughts for another jour and decided to go party with the others. Especially when he could have some time with his best friend and have a little chat about secrets.
