The first match of the night saw the Miz facing Randy Orton. Orton took Miz by surprise and was soon on top of him with multiple clotheslines and uppercuts. But Miz got back with a couple of big kicks to Orton's head, and even got a near-fall. Orton gained the upper hand yet again with a couple of hard scoop slams, but got distracted by the arrival of Wade Barrett. Orton chased Barrett outside the ring, getting himself counted out in the process, thus handing the victory to the Miz.
