Early Sunday afternoon, the first look of Breaking Dawn was leaked when the Teaser Trailer surfaced online several hours before it was supposed to premiere on the MTV Movie Awards.
As we all know, the Twilight films cause hysteria that cannot be measured. Since Breaking Dawn is the final movie, though in two parts, the hype surrounding this first trailer of the final chapter of the saga was expected to be amazing.
Was it worth all the hype and attention? Of course, all Twilight related promotion, whether trailers ou exclusive clips, are usually exploded into a huge deal, but, was this trailer satisfying?
In my opinion, I felt shorted. There were moments when I loved it, but there were moments when I wondered what Summit was thinking? Though, that happens pretty often. ;)
The trailer starts off with the Summit logo. I've always liked the logos that the films start off with. It's very fitting. This one especially. The color tones of the letters are beautiful. It's on the verge of being elegant but with a hint of danger. The light passing through just adds plus to the tone.
The first segment is everyone receiving invitations. I thought this was great. It was setting up the event that pretty much changed everything in the book. I liked how in the beginning, there was a woman walking in a great hall, nothing but echos. It added mystery, and it established a feeling of caution. It shows power. Aro gleefully smirks as he reads who is to be married. Charlie pondering and maybe even mourning the idea that his only child is growing into a young woman. Renee, prideful and proud.
Everything about this segment was great. The music, the cinematography. It was beautiful. The wigs of the Volturi, they could have been better. They still looked fake. But, that wasn't the focus of the scene.
"ON NOVEMBER 18"
This suivant scene, I thought was too long. It was nice to see that they included this scene. If I am remembering correctly, this scene was the epilogue of Eclipse.
However, I got a sense that they are still trying to push Jacob's "love" for "Bella" a little too strongly. And I also didn't like the fact that he took the time to take off his shirt. I know fangirls do not have a problem with that, but it does not seem realistic. He was angry right? Why would toi take the time to deal with a trivial thing such as a shirt? If I was angry enough to run away from family, I wouldn't be bothered with a shirt. But if the paw fits..
I did like how the camera panned to Jacob's feet while running and didn't montrer his full body as he shifted into a wolf. I thought this was great work. It felt plus real.
The camera then shifts to Billy and what is in his hand: the wedding invitation. I think the wedding invitation was beautiful. It was simple, like Bella, but it was classy, like the Cullens. I will note that if they montrer the whole "epilogue" from Eclipse, I hope that they will keep Edward's note to Jacob. The invitation was not a way to smite Jacob. It was Edward's way of letting Jacob know that it will mean a lot to Bella if he showed up.
"YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED"
This segment was a complete mess. The musique first of all was atrocious. Should it not be happy music? There is a wedding going on after all. The musique was all epic and even though the wedding is epic to us fans, the musique and the scene in the trailer did not flow at all. It came across as trying too hard. musique like that, there needs to be movement. Fighting, quick flashes of clips, not a slow rising audience as they glance back to the bride.
The wedding looks beautiful. Different than the book, but wonderful. The snips themselves were fine. But it was ruined par the musique that did not add anything to the segment. If anything, the musique took away [from the segment].
"TO THE EVENT"
Atrocious musique continues... a small tease of Bella's wedding attire, and centuries old family waiting to welcome a human who had changed their lives.
"THAT WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING"
I'm not going to talk about the audio because I'm sure toi guys get the point I'm trying to make, but this clip with Bella looking up at Edward in awe and astonishment, this was how I pictured Bella. Just looking at him with nothing but l’amour in her eyes. Kristen did a great job with this glance right here. The emotion on her face right now sends me into a giddy smile. Not to mention, her make up here is natural, but it's accentuates her features. It's perfect.
"FROM THE WORLDWIDE BESTSELLER"
*Insert complaints about the musique here* It just doesn't fit with the scenes! I feel terrible being negative about it. I'm trying not to bash it completely, but the scenes shown do not match at all. The scenes themselves are great. Edward and Bella sharing an intimate moment in the streets of Rio. A great use of slow motion. Not too much, not too little. The perfect amount. The shots of Isle Esme, beautiful. Honeymoon night, wonderful. Cinematically, they're beyond breathtaking. But sadly, again, the musique ruins the mood so it's hard to appreciate the beauty of the scenes.
"FOREVER"
Scenes, thumbs up. Music, thumbs down.
"IS ONLY THE BEGINNING"
This particular scene with the Volutri throwing the woman (Gianna maybe?) has me confused. My guess is them letting out their frustrations with Aro and his infatuation with Bella's transformation par throwing her across the great hall.
Another sweet moment between the newlywed couple, a flash of Jacob, then Edward punching Jacob, sending him flying into a wall. This clip is confusing all fans.
If toi noticed, Edward has blood around his mouth. We all know about the famous C-section Edward had to do in order to save the baby. That is what everyone is focusing on: that Edward acted angrily towards Jacob after the C-section. But what if it was after the first hunt? The lighting shows that it was dark, but that could have been edited in the process of making the trailer. Just some nourriture for thought.
*FADE TO BLACK*
This scene right here is brilliant. Nothing I would change in it. It has suspense written all over it. Bella looking in the mirror, measuring the size of her stomach. "That's impossible." The *thud* and how she clutched her abdomen. Edward's expression was complete horror. And the final shot when she looked up at him with a questioning look. That was probably my favori part of the trailer. It set up questions for the audience who have not read ou heard about Breaking Dawn.
So was the trailer worth the hype? No, I don't think so. It definitely wasn't the best trailer. I was extremely disappointed with it. I will still see the movie, but the trailer set my standards really low. If I wasn't a fan of the series, nothing in that trailer would have made me want to watch the movie. Maybe not until the last few secondes of the trailer.
Summit better make the suivant trailer flow and make it in a way that the scenes and musique compliment each other. This teaser trailer fell short of what it could have been.
Sorry to have been so negative guys! I hate it when I am, but I have to be critical about things I'm passionate about. The plus I l’amour it, the plus critical I am. And when it's Summit, there is always room for critique.
So there it is. Thanks for reading! Please commentaire and tell me what toi thought of the trailer! :) This was my first review in a while, I think since the Eclipse teaser trailer. Hopefully I didn't scare toi off with my negative remarks.

Now EW.com has learned that little 9-year old Mackenzie Foy is inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human l’amour child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress, who’s appeared in one episode each of télévision shows FlashForward and ‘Til Death, will portray the character who ages a full 17 years in only seven. Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used par David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too.
