She really goes to extremes with putting her friends & family first. Only when it comes to Salvatores she can't really let neither of them go, but they are both very old & free to decide, so they are not forced to stay by her side, they want to. You can't blame it all on her. Especially when she's only 18 & has so much going on in her life, when she lost so many people already, it's understandable she wants them both to stay with her. For me it doesn't mean at all she's selfish.

She is not selfish. She lost every single person she cared about. Damon + Stefan blame... Because no matter what they just can't let her go..... (I'm talking about Elena with emotions.)
In a sense, no because she does these things to protect her and those close to her. However, sometimes the choices her and HER friends make, minus Bonnie and Tyler, are wrong.
