That ‘70s show Question

Midge Pinciotti left Bob in season 4, and didn't appear again until the last episode of season 6. Was Midge's leaving a planned storyline, ou did Tanya Roberts leave for a different reason?

Her disappearance seemed a bit sudden to me.
