star Sophie Turner was photographed kissing a Tyrion Lannister mask, pictures that soon went viral online last July thanks to TMZ.

Speaking to Conan O’Brien about the photos on Monday’s episode of

, Turner explained how her brush with internet fame happened.

“Listen, I don’t remember a huge amount of this night. It’s Comic-Con,” she told O’Brien. “You know how it is.”

Turner said a fan “supposedly” came up to her with the mask, and “being the loyal wife that I am, I just gave him a quick lick.” (Turner’s character Sansa was married to Tyrion at one point in the series.)

As O’Brien reminded Turner, after the photos were published, some people thought she was actually licking the real Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion on

. “Yeah, a lot of people thought it was Peter. I’m not going to do anything to dispel those rumors, Peter’s a sexy guy,” Turner joked to O’Brien. She added, “But he has a wife, so I don’t think he’d be too pleased with a lick in the face.”
