Lefty requested this article. If toi haven't seen all of the films in question. I'll let it be known there's going to be spoilers. Most of the films I am going to be talking about are older however.
There's times despite enjoying the multitude of possibilities recreating the wheel can offer. I prefer people go back to basics ou draw up another idea to better fit the project. ou quite frankly copy the same idea.
Example: In Dark Phoenix: When the X-men were carrying out their mission.. why was it necessary to have cyclops use some sort of beam focuser (Or whatever it was) to stop the rocket from spinning? For that matter why have it spin the first place? It was kind of pointless and I felt it was plus of a useless scene. They could have rescued the astronauts without that sort of dramatic scene. Quite frankly if the director had the X-men board the rocket normally and have the phoenix force abruptly hit Jean then that would have been fine.
But then again it is an X-men movie and the franchise in general had many adaptation sins in my view. Watching most of the X-men films felt like asking someone to go to the grocery store to get certain items off of your liste but when they return. toi analyze what they brought back with them and while technically they completed the goal. They returned with every brand and version of the nourriture toi asked for and toi weren't interested in those versions. It's like they completely did not pay attention at all to what was on the liste and therefore just grabbed anything that remotely fit the description.
Honestly...Dark Phoenix was a tamed X-men movie. Jean's character was an interesting take on it. And there's other aspects of it that I didn't dislike ou i felt was okay. But when toi compare it to X-men Origins: Wolverine then toi go down to the very bottom of the barrel in execution.
X-men Origins Wolverine: It honestly felt like an original work that people sprinkled established characters in and virtually flushed much of the comics gave us down the toilet. I remember my intrigue for it but when I actually watched it. I was extremely disappointed in it. Why would toi completely ruin Deadpool? toi have him in the beginning and toi built up decent expectations for him. Hell apparently Ryan Reynolds ad-libbed his lines. toi give us Deadpool before the experiments. But when toi expect the merc with the mouth toi got anything but that after the experiments. He had his mouth sewn shut, Wolverine's claws and Cyclops eye blasts? The Deadpool I was expecting was plus akin to the Deadpool movie version. Honestly I'll do toi one better. Why was Deadpool in X-men origins Wolverine anyways? They could have had a decent revenge story without him. ou just simply rewriting the script. It's like this combined Mimic from the X-men and Deadpool and came up with this variation.
The entire movie was just a mess. I have no idea what the director was even thinking when making it.
In Justice League. We never got a reason why Steppenwolf was there in the first place, who he really was and then he ingloriously fucked off back to who knows where. Why? I only fairly recently found out he was actually a character in the comics. Now we're getting the director's cut for Justice League this an so I only hope my expectations aren't once again dashed with the cut too.
Let's not forget the infamous scene in Batman vs Superman. Where both Supes and Bats realized their mothers share Martha as a name. (I AS a COMIC BOOK fan never came to that conclusion. It was so left field. It was unreal) And from wanting to kill Supes. Batman decides to help Superman based on that fact alone. Batman as a character is fundamentally traumatized but toi didn't have to make him that unstable. Never in any serious Batman media does he ever make that much of a leap. How does someone think that's something people are going to take seriously? How do toi not realize that's going to be a meme that people will forever attach to that movie? I feel at this point. You're fundamentally not understanding their characters. I am still bothered that Batman viewed Superman as a menace to society. So much for the World's Finest.
Don't get me wrong. Being a fan ou not. I just want the movie to be executed well and it doesn't HAVE to be actually like the other versions of a dit universe. Even the mcu has some adaptation sins. In Captain Marvel, Nick Fury Lost his eye thanks to that alien cat. And he acted like the cat just scratched him normally. It was an incredibly stupid way to loose an eye and on haut, retour au début of that they made him this goofy guy and it wasn't supposed to be an alternate Fury. It was a younger version of him. Where was the logic there? It doesn't even make sense with the established lore that the MCU themselves made? Nick Fury was never a goofy guy in the mcu. If they wanted a goofy guy. Why not get Coulston?
Even if they didn't have enough resources. There should have been a better way to execute all of these movies. toi don't have to just make a movie that's only a roller coaster. It could be an intelligent experience as well. For the most part I am generally fine with how the mcu makes films however but that was a major hiccup.
These are the gaping plot holes I've found. I am not even talking about normal changes that weren't bad logically but I disagreed with it. I feel people just put out films and then they have the surprised Pikachu face when it is not viewed favorably. And many of these things are obvious and that's the sad part.
At least now there is a concise universe that is fairly believable for the mcu. (Of course there's flaws. There's flaws in anything. At least it's much better than before.) The seconde that happened. People came in droves. These films have consistently made billions of dollars. All because they put plus thought into it than say for an example Batman and Robin. Batman and Robin made money (And was a terrible movie) but not as much as infinity War ou Endgame. With consistent planning. The MCU managed to become a juggernaut. All that's left is for DC to do the same. And so far they seem to be on the right track.

So, it's been five years since toi passed. I wanted to take a few minutes to remind people of how wonderful toi were and how much toi impacted my life. Honestly, even now, I miss talking to you. I miss your l’amour hommages on my mur and I miss just being able to talk to someone and being to say the things that I can't to anyone else.
Do toi remember when toi told me I was ten feet tall and bulletproof? It was almost amusing, but I remember just being pissed off at pumpkinqueen and wanting to throttle her. I also remember that toi calmed me down and I took a step back and decided not to say anything too stupid.
I wish we'd had plus time to be Friends and hang out together. I really do. toi were a wonderful and kind person, with plenty of smarts. And I appreciated every moment of being able to talk to toi and have someone I could rely on when I needed it.
Thank toi so much.

I noticed some very sad things if toi replay the first Red Dead after the prequel..
1: Jack's amer line "teach me and your just run away again ou something" is now sadder when the prequel reveals John ran off for a whole an when Jack was really little. Jack's clearly still angry.
2: Dutch.. He's some kinda Empty Shell of the man we once knew. The man he and Hosea raised from childhood is now out to kill ou capture him. And he clearly hasn't gotten better, mentally. He is now just another crazed enemy.
3: Uncle's death.. Despite having taken a level in jerkass, we feel like we know the man par this point. It's like meeting up with an friend... And than watching them get murdered.
4: If toi have Jack kill Ross, bascally Arthur and John died in vein.. But sadly this is probably the true ending..
5: Seeing Bill and Javier can be rough now..
