Hey, for any of those college-students / college graduates. I'm going to be going off to college in August-September. Any tips toi can give me?

I will likely end up in either université of California Davis for Animal Science ou université of California San Diego for Biochemistry. Plus we will be trying to get me my own dorm - if not I will be sharing with one person tops.

Do your best, but don't overwork yourself for your own ou other peoples expectations.

Get a bike.

Have fun, obviously.

If toi get a roommate...I would say either start leaving cryptic messages written in the Gnommish language for him/her ou just buy a TON of rubber ducks wholesale online.

I use Trello to keep track of due dates. Yup, just keep a site like that around so toi will never be late for homework. I recommend moving due dates earlier so toi don't procrastinate. If toi need help using that site, I can help.

First off, congrats! And have fun! Sounds like the culmination of a few years of hard work. Both options seem fantastic. BIOCHEMISTRY <3

So I'm in my fourth an and still have two ou so to go lel.

Use first an to establish a good base: not just academically, but particularly socially and in terms of extracurricular activities. GET INVOLVED IN clubs FROM FIRST YEAR. They provide a great array of people interested in the same shit as you, and I really regret not meeting plus people in first an coz now it's much harder and people are far less willing to socialise. It also it looks great on your CV to have been in a committee, and it's hard to do so if toi didn't get your foot in the door in first year.

Relevantly: do extracurricular, part-time work and volunteering from now. I've just realised I don't have enough of that bc I focus too much on marks and I'm fuuucked. Meant to be applying for internships suivant an and it's like "lol what do I put on my CV and say in interviews considering I'm such a boring person". Defs keep up your musique - employers l’amour shit montrer long-term commitment. Seriously, start thinking about CV stuff from now. The job market is absolutely fucking brutal. You're graduating with thousands and thousands of other people.

So yeah, I can't stress enough how important social and activities stuff is for first year. But buckle the fuck up academically for seconde year, coz in my experience, seconde an subjects are a massive step up. Just be wary of that from now.

Set up a good timetable. Was super careless in allocating myself in first an and paid the price with a 5-days-a-week nightmare and some days going from 9am to 6pm with a massive gap in the middle of the day.

Log everything in Google calendar.

At my uni, no one cares if toi attend a different stream to the one you're allocated to. Find the best lecturer and feel free to go to theirs.

Handwrite lecture notes in science - gives way plus freedom for diagrams, symbols and shorthand. Typing doesn't work in science. My fav method is printing out the lecture slides (4 per page) and annotating.

Have a system of organisation for where toi put your notes/handouts after coming accueil from uni, coz honestly toi don't wanna be sorting through that in swotvac pre-exam period and coming to the horrible realisation that you're missing shit (speaking from experience here)

I reckon you're a smart cookie, so this is applicable: realise that everyone else in the cohort is much plus academically on par with toi than in high school. toi don't have the "buffer" of people who are less able. If toi don't try and just wing it, toi won't do "meh" anymore, you'll probs do badly. Less importance lies in natural ability now that everyone has a plus similar level of it.

Don't be me and pull all-nighters for assignments. Fucks toi up for the rest of the week.

Get a friend group that's happy to share notes and work together in assignments. Makes a world of difference. But par god, don't get caught plagiarising ou colluding. They will absolutely drill this into you, but academic misconduct gets a massive black mark suivant to your name that other institutions and employers can see. I sound like a uni shill, but yeah don't underestimate the danger.

Ooooh veterinary science is so cool. Well I over-emphasised the career and CV stuff then (thanks wanta, yeah it's basically a resume lol), coz job prospects are better for that sort of clinical work than for the shitty things I'm graduating in. toi chose very well :') And sounds like you're gonna be doing something toi care about. And band. These are the ingredients of a good time at uni.

Sorry I couldn't give plus about social and campus life, not many people actually live on college here. But yeah basically be social in first an and rejoindre the clubs. OH also toi can raise your hand in lectures but MDR don't say something stupid. I know toi and know toi won't, but MDR fun anecdote: still remember the face of one chick in my cohort from three years ago. We were in a public health lecture and the lecturer was like "An example of a public initiative: encouraging people to take the stairs instead of the elevators" and this chick raised her hand to say, entirely seriously and indignantly, "yeah, but what about DISABLED PEOPLE who can't use the stairs?". Which was bad enough, but then she proceeded to dig even plus of a hole for herself par having a back-and-forth with the lecturer for the suivant 5 minutes. Cringe.

CONGRATULATIONS, RIKU! THOSE ARE GREAT NEWS!

What I can say myself is just continue being yourself. Being the highly devotional Person toi are, I doubt toi will encounter much of a difference compared to now. Make sure toi choose the path that satisfies toi the most. I can tell that toi will l’amour what toi are doing based on these two options. Pour your passion into them and toi will succeed.

Now, being plus practical, I would suggest making a daily schedule and sticking with it. Procrastination will not do much good. Organize your Time. About the possibility of sharing a room with another person, regardless of the outcome, see it as a challenge that lies ahead. I believe it might really benefit toi actually. Be open to the changes that surround toi and toi will develop even further.

Honestly, I can't really think of much else to say. In overall, do what toi have always been doing. Adapt, stay focused on your goal and toi are going to rock things XD

I wish toi the best. Have fun !!!!

If toi have an assignment due online at midnight, for the l’amour of God do NOT wait until 11:56pm to turn it in. The internet might decide to slow down ou stop working between that time and 12am, and par that time you're screwed. (Based on past experience).

Remember to stay healthy. Don't binge on camelote, indésirable nourriture and lie in lit all jour instead of getting out and exercising just because there's no one to tell toi not to do those things.

XD I learned that in highschool. Not from my own experience but from other friends. They are much plus forgiving in highschool I imagine so I learned it the easy way - through other people's mistakes and when there were few consequences XD
