Should people demand respect even if they don't montrer respect for other people?

I feel this way,it takes respect to get respect. You're not going to like everyone, but toi do need to respect. Honestly, I don't believe that toi should demand it especially when toi don't respect other people yourself. Don't say toi respect people when toi really don't.

Please excuse me if this sounds rude in a way. I don't mean to sound like that ou sound sarcastic.
