Have him as a friend, then if one jour they break up, make sure you're there for your friend, but also some point later tell her how toi feel about this guy if toi still like him par then. If she's a true friend she'll understand how much toi like him, and will at least try not to mind about toi being with him.
Obviously, if he does still want to be with her, then it means that he really wants the two of toi to be friends! So toi should keep him as a friend, sometimes that's the best way, because that way toi know you're not going to lose him, because you'll a true solid friendship. I have lots of Friends that are guys, and its really good. It's really nice to have a guy to talk to about things and see how they see it, especially as toi and this guy have clicked so well. toi could have a really great friendship, and if you're good friends, then toi know it won't get spoiled par a relationship, because lets face it, relationships don't last forever, not until you've met the one that you're going to spend the rest of your life with.
I don't have any tips for getting over him, but this is what I'd do.
