I need your help Fanpopers!!

I'm gettin a hamster soon and I've had them before but I still consider myself a beginner.
So my question is what hamster is good for beginners?I like the Winter White hamster and the Syrian hamster (teddy ours hamster).
And if toi could please post a link to some info on them and what kind of cage they need(plastic,metal).
