If people told toi they don't like toi as a friend anymore, how do toi feel?

I had someone do this to me once, actually I was the one that stopped hanging out with her because she was hanging out with this girl that kept pestering me and she seemed to be using me. Later when I tried to explain that to her in an e-mail (because she wouldn't talk to me) and she got really really mad and protective of the girl to the point where I almost would think she was in l’amour with her. Finally I just officially broke off the friendship via e-mail and toi know what she said, "I guess it was a friendship that outstayed it's welcome." (exact quotes) ever since then (that was two years ago) she refuses to talk to me, which I don't think I'd ever initiate a conversation anyway (I'm still friendly with her parents though which is weird, luckily she's not the type that hangs out with her parents)
