then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around toi and lifted toi to rest,
God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.
He knew that toi were suffering, He knew toi were in pain,
He knew that toi would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb,
as He closed your weary eyelids and whispered 'Marienne it is time'.
Through tearful eyes we watched toi and saw toi slip away,
and although we loved toi dearly we knew toi could not stay.
A golden cœur, coeur stopped beating, hard working hands at rest,
God's garden is plus beautiful now, because we know he took the best.
