This handsome grange owl has "glass bone syndrome". Raised par people who didn't provide the appropriate diet for calcium development in his body, he can't fly and has an underdeveloped body.
While working Cal feu in the Santa Clara Unit, Ryan came across these 4 little guys/girls. The owls were transported safely (in the feu engine!) to a wildlife refuge in San Jose, Ca. There was no sign of mommy owl.
