xoheartinohioxo picked Season 6:
For me, after S7 & S8, season 6 and season 4 were the two worst seasons of this show. They are basically interchangeable for me in terms of being the worst.

I felt like things were so wrong, so out of place in both these seasons - In season 6, Brooke became such a different person and it sickens me when i think about it. Gone was the cheery, bubbly Brooke Davis that i had loved for the past 5 seasons, and in her place was this woman who no longer seemed to hold the same values as before. I think, for me at least, this really began in S5 when she encouraged Peyton to go after Lucas even though he was in a committed relationship with Lindsay. I'm sorry but that was not the real Brooke Davis. In that same episode she told Peyton that she knew what it felt like to "be the Lindsay between Lucas & Peyton" SHE KNEW HOW MUCH IT FUCKING HURT TO HAVE LUCAS CHEAT ON HER, TO GET HER HEARTBROKEN - Yet she turns around and tells Peyton to "go get her man" ?? This for me was the beginning of the end of my love of Brooke Davis, i just didn't realize it fully at the time.

lol now that I've ranted about Brooke, back to why S6 just felt so wrong to me. Here is the last season that our core 5 would ever be together, and i don't buy in to that argument of "Well they weren't 100% sure if Chad & Hilarie were leaving" THEY KNEW. We knew MONTHS ahead of the finale that Hilarie was leaving, and we found out about Chad soon after. So what do the writers & Mark do? Do they make sure to give us lots of interactions between B/H/L/N/P? Or even just lots of interaction between pairings like Breyton, Laley, Lathan, Brucas, Paley & Pathan? NO, they instead give Jamie too much screentime, they give us pointless scenes of Chase & Mia, Mouth & Millie, Skills & Deb etc. We even have time spent on a SL of Millie sleeping with Owen...

RIDICULOUS!

And it's not just the lack of core 5 interaction that is so messed up, it's the stupid shit like Nanny Carrie kidnapping Dan...

All in all, S6 was mostly crap imo. Sure, there were some great moments mixed in - Episode 6x17 was overall very well done. LP's pregnancy provided some great moments, Naley had some good moments & Brooke being attacked was pretty powerful... but with all the crappy moments of s6, these good moments just were not enough to make S6 good for me.

Season 6 had it's flaws. As much as I love it, I won't deny that. It had it's fair share of dumb & pointless scenes/storylines. But to me, it had FAR more positives than negatives. And overall, I still consider it very entertaining. I go back and rewatch quite a few S6 episodes all the time. I do find myself skipping the occassional scene (Nanny Carrie drama, etc.), but I rarely if ever feel the need to skip entire episodes.

Unlike season 2... which I just found straight up boring, and would never choose to rewatch any of it ever again lol. Core 5 interaction, and "old school" OTH is great... but that doesn't automatically equal entertainment IMO. Which I feel like season 2 is MAJORLY lacking. It required real effort from me to be able to sit through the whole season. It just dragged on SO slowly for me, personally. I feel like season 2 could be totally erased, and it wouldn't make a difference to me, or for the show at all. It's just unnecessary, in my book. Just my personal opinion, ofcourse!

Totally agree with Holly.

Plus I just found season 6 pretty boring. There were a couple good story lines, but aside from season 8, I think it was the most boring season. And some of the characters I loved were boring also, which just angered me. Haley barely had anything going on, Brooke usually acts 70% cheery/sassy and 30% emotional/depressed and season 6 was about 70% depressing Brooke with just 30% fun feisty Brooke, and Lucas- that was the saddest for me- cause he was just...well...forgettable. If it hadn't been for Leyton's story line I wouldn't even remember Lucas was in season 6. He was so just so boring.
I hated the idea of Skills & Deb and psycho Carrie (i liked her story line in season 5, even though I hate HER, cause she was a normal evil person...but season 6 she was just a cartoonish evil psycho villain and it was horrible). But mostly I just didn't care about Skills & Lauren, Chase & Mia, Nathan & his 50 basketball careers, Nathan & all his basketball rivals, Mouth & Millicent, Mouth & Gigi, Brooke & Owen, Millicent & Owen, Jamie & his friends, and Sam & Jack.
And then there were story lines that could have been great but I just didn't care about... like the Ravens movie, the 1940s episode, and Peyton & Mick's story line. Which was ashame cause I LOVED Peyton & Ellie's and I think the movie storyline had SO much potential but instead only really acted as a way to introduce Julian's character. And I loved the idea of 6x11 being a 1940s episode- but it turned out to be one of the worst OTH episodes imo. The costumes and set looked great- but everything else just kept making me laugh (and it was definitely at times when I was not supposed to be laughing). I felt like they did it all wrong.
And I was really disappointed with what they did with Victoria in season 6. If they wanted her to reform, that's fine. But she did a complete 180 within an episode and it just ruined everything they spent the first 5 seasons building up. Brooke's character was based on her feeling neglected & abandoned by her parents- and in one episode her mom just changes? It was as bad as season 9 when her father did the exact same thing (or season 7 when Julian's father did the same thing.... why couldn't they take a lesson from Dan and take some time to gradually reform).
I love every OTH season and there's some stuff I really loved about season 6, but when I compare it with other seasons (ESPECIALLY season 2)- it falls short. It bored me so much of the time... but most of all- it really disappointed me because it had SO much potential and didn't come close to living up to it.

And I explained my love for season 2 in the last pick, so I won't repeat that long explanation: link

exactly. no need to write an essay about all of season 2's flaws (although i easily could). bottom line is that it was boring, and just flat out forgettable. plain and simple.

Broody_4_Cheery picked Season 6:
after season 3 my fave seasons tend to be tied between 5 and 6. but season 2 and 6 both arent perfect but imo s2 is more othish and entertaining, or more importantly better written. both 2 and 6 arent the best with interaction of friendships, s2 didnt build on the haley and peyton friendship when they could have, and dont get me started on the lucas and peyton friendship (its almost as bad as brooke and lucas in s6), but my main issue with s6 is sl's that seemed to be half written, it had so much potential and then no follow through. but they are both great peyton seasons, but jp beats lp in my books by like a million points, s6 has some great scenes for joy but at the same time s2 is more crucial for her character, same for brooke really, i like karens involvement in s2 and it gave us tric, nathan was prob more pivotal in that s2, but prob my biggest hate about lucas in s6 is well i barely noticed him, s2 is a great season for lucas, lots of sl's. oh and it had voice overs. s2 prob better stand alone eps too. but half written sl's totally drops the awesomeness of s6 and gives the vote to s2, honorable mention to sam, loved her in s6.
