Natalie Dormer was the fiery heart of House Tyrell as Margaery on

, proving to be one of the most intriguing and intelligent characters on the show.

so her days were inevitably numbered, and she met a fiery demise in the season six finale when the Sept of Baelor was destroyed by Cersei Lannister.

The Tyrell family continued through her scene-stealing grandmother Lady Olenna (Diana Rigg) in season seven, though she eventually met her end too during the sacking of Highgarden, which ended House Tyrell for good.

And Natalie has now had her say on the fate of her noble house, admitting she was "a bit pissed off" that it ended in the way it did with Highgarden.

"Just looking at how gorgeous Highgarden was – and when the Highgarden soldiers were all dead on the floor, I felt, you know, protective," the star told

"It was so stupid. It was that little bit of Margaery that\'s still in the back of my brain," she continued. "Men wearing

sigil, lying in a pool of their own blood on the floor. I was like, \'Who\'s done this to my home?!\'"

As for her verdict on Lady Olenna\'s iconic final scene, in which the Queen of Thorns revealed that she killed Joffrey to Jaime Lannister\'s face, Dormer said: "It was a very moving scene.

"You really feel them revving the gears in [season seven]. There\'s got to be a lot of collateral damage to get to the end of season eight. So you can kind of smell that it\'s coming."

Yet, she admitted that had Margery still been around, the fate of House Tyrell may have played out differently, adding: "It would

have happened if Margaery had still been alive."
