To celebrate the jour were pressed special editions of albums Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad and Dangerous - all remastered with new liner notes, including rare and unreleased songs, and also interviews with producer Quincy Jones and songwriter Rod Temperton. In addition to two commemorative concerts held at Madison Square Garden in September 2001 with participation of various artists such as Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Slash, Usher, Luther Vandross, Destiny's Child among others.
The following month, October, Jackson released Invincible, the first collection of new songs released par the étoile, star in six years, from HIStory in 1995. Mainly produced par Rodney Jerkins and Teddy Riley, there is also the participation of Carlos Santana on the song "Whatever Happens," Slash on "Privacy" and even a posthumous rap par Notorious BIG
Jackson also helped form the "United We Stand: What plus Can I Give" benefit concert held at RFK Stadium in Washington to seek funds for charity for the families of the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11 in the United States, where he sang What plus Can I Give along with the other singers and Man In The Mirror alone, but this latter did not appear on television.
