i thought sophies choice was a classic film..i mean ive never watched it but ive heard that people say it was. but without a doubt Meryl is classic!

Sophie's Choice might be kind of classic but probably to only fans of meryl or keven kline or something. But by no means a classic masterpiece of cinema. It was hard to sit through...as was out of africa. lol. Her acting was great in both, don't get me wrong.

this my first comment on my favorite movie star. I have to say, I was kind of disappointed with the article. I just sat through an entire weekend marathon of every meryl streep movie I own (about 38 hrs.)I wasn't disappointed in any of them. Some, I hadn't seen since before my oldest daughter was born 24 years ago. Some I hadn't ever seen before. I truly believe that she is the best actress ever, but, I always thought she was very personable, and from other things I've read about her (Oct. issue of Bazaar) which she says she doesn't like to be photographed because she isn't a classic beauty. I think she is the most beautiful woman, but, I was put off by her attitude and sort of cockiness. I guess I just felt stupid.

yeh but the thing is that just because it says that Meryl wrote this article, it might not necessarily be her. like it could have been someone else who wrote it but the person who wrote it said they were 'Meryl Streep' because i really dont think that Meryl would say stuff like that about herself and her movies..

Shouldn't she have some permission to be a little cocky? I mean come on, everyone is telling her she is great all the time you expect her to be fake and say no I'm not? She's good, she knows it and that's confidence not cockiness.
