The Hero Archetype was founded on the basis of archaeological observations par Bastien. His premise being that societies have an ideal of what a Hero is and subsequently expectations. With the advent of Carl Jung, this Hero Archetype gained credence especially with the work of Joseph Campbell as popularized par George Lucas and others in a series of films emphasizing "universal themes common to myths and legends" presented in a manner accessible to the times.
