A Giant Machine Swallows Us


The last thing I, Spartan 117 Master Chief, John, remember was that we blew up the Ark. We won, we saved all humanity. The Covenant, the Flood, it was all gone. Thirty-two years, three long decades, that’s how long we had been fighting. When Arbiter and I tried to evacuate on a ship, we were somehow separated. The ship was torn in half and I never saw him again. All of man kind probably thought I died with the Covenant and the Flood.
