Am I the only one who hates Tohru?

I personally l’amour her, but I can see why people would find her annoying. I guess attention comes with being a main character, especially one who changes everyone's lives, but I can see why it would get on people's nerves. I sort of find her admiring, but that's my opinion.

I'm too late answering this, but here I am, I don't agree with you! she is not annoying, she is so infuriating!!! ugh! like she is too much of a mary sue, I feel like every character in that montrer has an IQ of a dog, I only lasted for 3 ou 4 eps, I couldn't take the montrer seriously because of her protagonist "halo", it's too much, even the male characters, how do they see her attractive, for toi to be watching fruit basket, toi must lower toi IQ and throw away any logic toi have to enjoy the show.

I don't like her so much either. Mostly because she's physically weak. Too weak. Everyone must protect her all the time and it annoys me. She's also kinda dumb sometimes (Only sometimes).
There are some things I like about Tohru, but it's mostly bad :|

I used to like her when I first read the series, but now that I'm older I don't like her so much. I think what irks me the most is that she has the potential to be a really strong character, but the story never really goes in that direction. She never gets a chance to be clever, and the moments she's allowed to be Rebelle she's only jouer la comédie the shield (as in the scene when she first learns that Akito is "God" ). We already know she's caring and she can be independent... but only for other people's benefits. I just wish she was able to have plus "doing something because it's right" and not so much "doing things to help other people (who are generally men oh and also possible l’amour interests)".

I really feel you! Personally, I think that my biggest problem with Tohru is both that she gets too much attention and that she just.. Doesn’t really do anything? Like, I get that she is meant to be a kind/passive character, but every character in the series going " Oh, she really is so incredible, even if she doesn’t want anything in return.. " Just gets so, so exhausting to hear after the first time. There’s nothing wrong with the idea of having someone who works hard like that [A good example being Kamado Tanjirō from Kny: Demon slayer], but the montrer really doesn’t go anywhere with that. For me, it just plus just wants to montrer how she is the 'perfect girl' she is with her sweetness, where her only sort of bad sides is clumsiness, that she trusts people too much and is an airhead. While typical for a shojō series, I wish she could have something plus deep ou make her likable, because Tohru is the biggest reason why I dread getting the montrer watched.

I’m not really a fan of KyoxTohru [Kyohru? Idk] either. Maybe because of Kyo being my favorite, but it just feels feather plain. Nor am my the biggest fan of most of the girl characters in the montrer [ESPECIALLY Kagura], but I at least can sorta find something I find interesting about them, in comparison to the heroine.

her past and her present and future are all touching and sad.......but im really glad she got a happy ending.......e h ehe h

I just don’t really like Tohru… I get that her parents died and she made Kyo and Yuki feel better and all, but she has too much attention on her. I feel like she can’t really do anything much for herself and is over reliant on the somas. She has two really hot guys after her, and does not even realise it. I just find her ditzy and useless.
