In this article, I am going to debunk various arguments made par Dollhouse staff during the series to defend their work and claim that its nature is philanthropic.

The first defence is that Dollhouse engagements give their clients "what they need". However, in the majority of cases, a plus accurate description would be "what they want" ou "what they desire" rather than "what they need". Some of the cases which I would argue involve genuine need would be negotiating the return of an abducted child in Ghost, infiltrating the cult in True Believer, providing therapy and conseil to an abused child...
