i was always suspicious of how on earth they would've worked if he WASN'T human.... she probably would've stayed with him... but he's an animal. so that would be a little weird if you ask me... anyways, i like the others better than belle and beast. :)

Swanpride picked jasmin and Aladin:
They are so shallow, and they never give anything up for each other (in fact, Aladdin more or less gives up Jasmine for the Genie - not that I disagree with him acting honorable, but the other pairings seem to be more comitted to each other).

Please, not Eugene and Rapunzel - I said it before, but they are the only ones who really get to know each other (in knowing each other secrets) before their romantic scene. And he dies for her, and she gives up her freedom for him. More commitment isn't possible.

@Swanpride: i understand that, but i just hate them as a romantic couple, i don't think they suit at all. way too awkward. she has the mindset of more or less a 5 year old (which is understandable in her given situation) and he's the complete opposite. it's just awkward to watch and i would rather them be close friends honestly.

I just don't see them as a proper couple. They are more like friends.

Swanpride picked jasmin and Aladin:
@mongoose09 I think that they are very similiar to each other - sure, "Flynn" seems to be this selfconfidend criminal, who knows exactly what he wants. But underneath Flynn is "Eugene", the little orphan, who thought that nobody would ever love him, so he decided to be someone else. Those insecurities are very similiar to the ones Mother Gothel talked into Rapunzel for years.
And I strongly disagree about the "mindset of a five year old" thing. Rapunzel is very smart, and she doesn't take the frying pan with her because she is so trusting and believes that nothing can happen to her. She knows exactly what she does and what might happen to her outside - she just decides that fullfilling her dream is worth to risk it. And she does it on her own terms, with the necessarily leverage. You realize that she is the one who inicially outwits Flynn, right? If she has the mindset of a five year old, what is is Ariel (who arguable goes into Ursula's trap like a child who got offered a new toy by a stranger)? Three?

I agree with Swanpride. Besides, Aladdin lied to Jasmine several times although he's in love with her. (Don't get me wrong, I love this couple). But he wasn't completely honest with her.

Flynn and Rapunzel knew each other's intentions from the beginning (he wanting the crown and her wanting to see the lanterns). They became friends and then it transformed in love. Most couples in real life start their relationships that way.

agree with Swanpride. To have a successful relationship, you also need to be best friends. I love Aladdin and Jasmine, but she thought he was a totally different person when she fell in love with him.

Popcornfan picked Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert:
they're nice and all, but Belle and Beast are the best in my opinion (I mean, c'mon, their love broke a spell, what more can you ask?); and Aladdin and Jasmine are the lovely couple of high and low class. That beats just two people who liked each other and then fell in love (though at the beginning they didn't get along, that adds something, but it's not enough)

Love all of them really, these are all my top three favorite couples and characters. But for me Rapunzel and Eugene and Belle and Adam, seem more real and like they could be together forever. They love each other more for what's on the inside, their quirky traits, and their flaws. But I still love Aladdin and Jasmine.

Mongoose09 picked Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert:
@Swanpride, fair enough that's your opinion and i respect it. but while Rapunzel IS intelligent, i never said she wasn't, she's still very emotionally immature (in my opinion) and hasn't experienced life at all, especially in comparison to Flynn who i imagine has had many 'girlfriends' before Rapunzel & has had A LOT more life experience.
in my opinion she just doesn't seem ready for a relationship like that and their romance just seems rushed to me - and yes i know this is the case with many Disney couples, but these said couples are just so innocently sweet and have a certain charm about them (e.g. Aurora/Phillip) which isn't the case with Rapunzel/Flynn IMO. what i mean is they were rushed in the writers/producers point of view, not in terms of the story - it just felt like they HAD to be a couple simply because they were the male/female protagonists. Flynn's relationship with her is more like a big brother or a close friend without all the randomly thrown in romance.

"And since when is being friends and being in love two things which exclude each other?"
-when did i say it was? i understand that you can be the best of friends and still be romantically involved, but to me they suit better as JUST friends.

believe me it all sounds MUCH better in my head haha, find it hard to put things into words sometimes =P

Swanpride picked jasmin and Aladin:
@Mongoose Sorry, but their relationship is rushed? It's one with the longest build up in the line-up - the only pair which knows each other longer is Mulan and Shang (they take so much time, they don't even come to the relationship part until the very end) and Tiana and Navween - perhaps Ariel and Eric. Belle and the Beast: One night, a day, a night (and they started out as more or less enemies, her being his prisoner). Rapunzel and Flynn: Two days until the latern scene, another day until the happy end - and since they are together during the time nearly without interruption and share a near death experience before they open up to each other. Jasmine and Aladdin argueable know each other longer, but they only spend a short time at the market and during the carpet-ride with each other before she wants to marry him (still thinking that he is a prince). The time they really spend together during the movie perhaps amonds a day.
And the argument that they "had" to be a couple - yes, they had to, they are BASED on a story with a romance. I understand the argument concerning Mulan and Shang (not agreeing, but understanding), but Flynn and Rapunzel were written from the very beginning to compliment each other.

The relationship IS rushed, in my opinion, they show no romantic interest in each other until the fire scene, and that's only on Rapunzel's end. Flynn to me falls for her literally within a day. They just seem SO ill-matched as well, I can't see what they'll talk about at all. And they don't appeal to me, that's it.
