ROUND 1: Cinderella (2015) ELIMINATED
ROUND 2: The Princess and the Frog (2009) ELIMINATED
ROUND 3: Tangled (2010) ELIMINATED
ROUND 4: Beauty and the Beast (2017) ELIMINATED
ROUND 5: Frozen (2013) ELIMINATED
ROUND 6: Moana (2016) ELIMINATED
ROUND 7: Enchanted (2007) ELIMINATED

This is the final round. I'm going with Brave here because Maleficent claims to be a thoughtful deconstruction of Sleeping Beauty but it's a hackneyed attempt at appearing progressive while actually setting feminism years back.

At least Brave isn't adapt and finally ruin the original fairytale like Maleficent did. Merida's anti-princess characteristics are the only thing from the movie that offense the earlier Disney princesses but other than that, the movie is fine. Maleficent instead, ruined the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale with putting Maleficent as a hero instead, made Prince Philip and fairies to be useless characters, and made Aurora's dad as villain instead (it still doesn't makes any sense to me)

Both are pretty offensive but Maleficent just murdered its source material.

Maleficent made me really sad. I wish they focused on Aurora and stuck with the original tale more closely instead of on the villain.

Sometimes villains can be evil just because they are and they don't need a tragic backstory.

I would say brave ! Maleficent is not really a parody but very offensive. Its like they hate sleeping beauty when they wrote the script.

Maleficent is DEFINITELY the more offensive one. I was looking forward to the movie and I ended up being very disappointed. Aurora didn't even have a ROLE!

Same as before. I'm like the only one on this site who actually enjoys Maleficent, but I don't like the line at the beginning where they say "this is actually what happened" or whatever. Um, no, this is just one interpretation of a fairy tale that has had many different adaptations throughout history.

^agreed, we're definitely in the minority who actually enjoy Maleficent (at least on Fanpop), but still it does change the entire story of the original. I see it as a separate interpretation to the animated version so it's not ruined for me, but I can understand how it might ruin it for others.

Lol I want to know as well. I bet the user remained anonymous on purpose so we could not identify who had bad taste. Jk ;)

I, I picked Maleficent too, here I am XD But anyway, I always found Brave a bit of a parody of the old and classic DP movies. (Especially Mer & Elinor's characters)
However Maleficent is still has the fairytale vibe, a bit dark and a different perspective but still a classic fairytale to me ^^
