*Yes, I know some princesses don't fit these requirements, but they are often said not to deserve to be in the line-up, and for reasons included in the poll. You can take that into account or ignore it when you chose.*
Someone in the princess lineup shouldn't be evil in her movie. They're supposed to be role models.

I like redemption stories

I think all the DPs should sing at least one song. I think a DP being evil and then....."seeing the light" would be a good story, showing someone that they still have a chance at being good.

People need to consider that just because they think that each princess should sing one song (I do too), does not mean that it is important factor in the COMPANY's decision. A lot of people are choosing what THEY feel is important without considering it through the COMPANY's point of view, so practically choosing to see what they WANT to see and not an overall importance.

This does not really matter much, since the princess formula is changing more and more (with less films being a musical), and this does not determine a reason why a character gets to be a DP. It just has little to no impact. Now that Merida is included, a lot of prior rules do not count, and you can't ignore it because it is only one character.

I don't really think singing is so important, but I think the fact that someone used to be on the bad side is good for a DP; it means that they get better and grow up, which is good because it teaches girls to be good no matter what they think, and usually they have a reason to go good again.

I like it when they sing... xD plus, redemption stories are cool.

Well, seeing how Meg was helping the villain at first, and then switched to Hercules' side, and she's still loved by so many people, I think this requirement is not that important.

I think it would be great to have a redemption story. It would show people that everyone has some good in them.

it may be a nice story but it isn't necessary at all for a DP. Plus like with Meg, I think kids might get the wrong idea that being bad is OK if one of the heroes/lead female is doing it. A lot of kids don't know she was supposed to be a villain.

I don't see why it matters that she is villain-like. But, come on! She HAS to sing. Music is very important in the DP movies.

Music was the main thing (besides love) Walt wanted all his Princesses to have, next to the story he spent most of his time with the musics. I think that's want singing should stay.
