Jessikaroo picked Rapunzel:
10. Aurora
9. Cinderella
8. Snow White
7. Jasmine
6. ?

Please try to remove your bias and please try to remember that none of the princesses are really that feminist!

I don't really want to repeat everything that's been said about Rapunzel vs Ariel, you can go back to previous rounds and read comments if you really care. But Ariel is at least fighting male oppression (her fathers) and I don't see anything unequal about Eric and Ariel's relationship except her lack of voice, which was Ursula's fault. Not Eric's.

Ariel did go behind her fathers back but it was purely so she could marry her prince. She gave up her voice but didn't really try and bargain so speechless Ariel really shows the stereotype of "women should be seen not heard."

rhythmicmagic picked Rapunzel:
Ariel had wanted to be human before seeing Eric, and I will go to the grave saying she did not exchange her voice for a man- at least not solely for a man. One of the most annoying things I hear people say about her is that "she waited until meeting a man to become human." She didn't have a chance before meeting Eric. Also, she made that decision in a moment when she had just been crushed, and at times like that, many people can act irrationally. Also, Eric loved her- even without her voice- because of her bubbly, spunky personality. She was certainly not a shrinking violet and very expressive.
I sometimes see Rapunzel as a bit of a damsel-in-distress. She seems not to be able to do too much without help. I think the main reason I can see her this way is the way she is just left by the boat and just stands there when Flynn leaves. Also, Rapunzel was considering going back to the tower (and people say Belle has Stockholm Syndrome.) When Ariel is in the new world she'd dreamed about, she is obviously shown not wanting to go back. Ariel also decides to go after Eric when he is going off with Vanessa, whereas Rapunzel turns to Gothel. Ariel just seems in general more independent to me than Rapunzel, and I mean in general, not just when it comes to men. There are times where I feel like Rapunzel can seem like a damsel in distress, but I never get that impression from Ariel.
Wow, Belle's gotten voted for.

I can't believe Jasmine's gone! I'm still voting for Rapunzel after her it's Ariel, even though she's surprisingly a heroic female character, as the movie goes on her dream becomes less and less about being on land and more and more about being with a man. And what motivates her to finally go after her dream? The same said man.

I won't repeat what I said in previous polls. Anyway, I agree with rhythmicmagic. The main point is that Ariel is more independently proactive and fights against male oppressors.

@rhythmicmagic: I disagree slightly with you. She could have gone to Ursula at any point, but Eric was the one to make her go.

Anyway, I can't believe Jasmine's gone before Rapunzel and Ariel. And I don't want to repeat everything I said about them 2 already. Too lazy to type it again :)

I'm having trouble deciding between Rapunzel and Ariel, but the fact that Ariel initiates just about everything that happens to her in the movie (whether good or bad) places her a bit higher for me.

Ariel's crazy about a man, which is nothing a feminist will do.

At this point, It's for me between Ariel and Pocahontas, because they are the last two princesses, whose love for a man is the main motivator (Belle and Mulan want to help their fathers, Tiana wants a restaurant and Rapunzel wants to see the lights), though I think the fact that Ariel is so inmature and makes so many bad decisions in her movie (without ever learning something about it) makes her the least feminist of the ones left.

SweetPea2007 picked Ariel:
Jessikaroo:"But Ariel is at least fighting male oppression (her fathers)" I see it more as her being disrepectful and disobediant against her Parent...if it had been a single mother instead of father then would she still seem feminist? Her father is not "oppressing" her because he is male and she is female, he is being a protective, loving Parent....

rhythmicmagic:"Also, Rapunzel was considering going back to the tower (and people say Belle has Stockholm Syndrome.) " Rapunzel thought Gothel was her Mother not her Kidnapper, so she was being a good daughter by wanting to return to her Parent. Unlike Ariel, Rapunzel had respect for Gothel and was a obediant, loyal good kid.

I keep seeing people using the argument that Ariel wanted to be human before she met Eric and that she sold her voice for her dream to be a human and not to just be with a man. Well Rapunzel was planning to leave her tower before she met Flynn and she most likely would have come up with another plan to leave even if he had not dropped in, but she was resousful and used his pressence to her advantage. She Used a man to help her and They worked togeather to reach thier goal (they worked equally man and woman) Flynn took Rapunzel to the Bar to scare her but instead she ended up saving him....and she also saved him in the caverns and when they were drowning...Seems to me Flynn ended up needing Her more then she needed him and she also saved him in the end with her love instead of the other way around...I see her being a lot more stronger and Braver then Ariel ever was and closer to being feminist then Ariel too....

@BelleAnastasia--- she wasn't going to go to Ursula until she was in utter distress, like she was when her father broke her items. If her father had broken her items BEFORE she had met Ursula and the eels had shown up, Ariel would have gone. It's all circumstantial.

It really amuses me that Jasmine is gone, when she's more of a feminist than rapunzel and ariel. this is all about favorites, that's why it's pontless to make these polls imo. meh whatever.

rhythmicmagic picked Rapunzel:
SweetPea- Ok, I get what you're saying about being obedient, but she was still willing to give up her independence. She knew Gothel never wanted to let Rapunzel leave her tower at that point, so she would have been willingly giving up her freedom and going back to being oppressed.
