Sorry it's long. I have a lot of beliefs about these three to respond to! May get preachy!

I really hate all the hate the old princesses get, especially Snow White. She has a lot plus personality than she is donné credit for (more than many of the récent heroines have, too). she’s got a sassy sense of humor, she’s unbelievably emotionally strong despite the horrible abuse and near murder she went through twice (the victim blaming she and Cendrillon get is rather disgusting and hypocritical), she never gave up hope about meeting her l’amour again, she didn’t need to run around chasing boys like a desperate fool, she was confident enough (in herself, her prince, and their love) and wise enough to know he should come to her, and would- and did! I could go on. I really can't stop chant her praises.

Not to mention, I think it’s cute that she’s actually a smart little businesswoman. She ran that house like a boss. She was naive, but not enough to think the dwarfs would just let her stay for free (although I’m positive all but Grumpy would’ve happily let her). She noticed they were poor housekeepers, and as she was a talented one, so using the sense she supposedly lacks, she offered to be their maid and cook in exchange for shelter and safety (come on, what do toi think she’s gonna do? work in the mines, where she’d just get in the way? sit around doing nothing and get rightfully called a lazy ingrate?). She showed good organizational skills when assigning the critters to their tasks and quite like like a mother, told the dwarfs to wash up. Who wants slobs at the table? Just because she works for them doesn’t mean they need to forget their manners. I don't see why Belle ou jasmin are wonderful for standing up to the Beast (who Belle knew wouldn't harm her) and Jafar (at first anyway, jasmin had complete power over him) but Snow White is a brat for telling the dwarfs what to do.

The people who accuse her, Cindy, and Aurora of being “passive” and never doing anything but “sitting around” waiting for their guys- uhhh, no, toi should really watch their films before blindly repeating what all their haters regurgitate. If you’d see them, you’d realize not a single one of the heroines of any era “sits” around. Two were under spells and thus, physically unable to save themselves. They have pretty dang good excuses.

Cendrillon represents hope, that par waiting bad things out, staying strong, good things will reward you. Not to mention she would be an idiot for trying to run away- to what? Seriously I honestly would l’amour to know what people who bash Cendrillon for doing the smart thing- staying- would rather she do. Please, speak up! Would toi have her become a whore? rejoindre a dangerous, backbreaking sweatshop? Do toi guys forget they were NO women's shelters ou abuse hotlines back then? Women were nearly powerless. Stop judging them as modern people- they are NOT MODERN. Their films about the stories, themselves, and their reactions, NOT their adventures ou action. Anyway, as Disney himself said, she wanted the prince, so she went to the château and got him. No waiting here. He didn't rescue her, either, ou even come find her himself. Of all the girls that get bashed, I am stupefied par the amount of hate Cendrillon gets. Really, she's like THE perfect role model in every way. She and Belle are somewhat similar, so why is Belle seen as strong and feminist and Cendrillon not?

And Aurora? Please. That girl’s birthday was ruined, she found out the man she liked couldn’t be with her, and the enormous responsibility of monarch was forced upon her. Did she throw a fit like Merida and refuse to accept her responsibility? No. Did she selfishly run away from her problems to pursue her own desires like Ariel and Jasmine? No. (And I’m not condemning them, just pointing out they did bad things too yet get little to no criticism for it, and when they do get fiercely defended.) SHE WENT UP TO THAT château CRUSHED AS SHE WAS AND PUT DUTY OVER DESIRE. That takes an amazingly strong woman. I don’t know if I would be strong enough to do that, myself.

Besides, what is so horrible about being passive? toi have to be sometimes, like in bad situations where suddenly making a bad déplacer is pretty dumb. They weren’t passive anyway; people today (especially younger people) are just too rebellious, self-centered, and can’t stand seeing others being stronger than they are, taking abuse but never giving it back, seeing women properly use their gentleness as a strength.

And why exactly are the newer princesses Rebelle for doing reckless things, yet Snow White is stupid, a moron, has no common sense, is an idiot, when she takes the apple? Rapunzel went off with a stranger and befriended dangerous thugs. Belle (you know, the supposedly "intelligent" one) went into the west wing where Heaven knows what sort of danger might have waited for her. jasmin ran away from accueil with no money and went to a stranger's house ALONE (if that isn't the equivalent ou worse to what Snow White did I donno what is). Mulan endangered her whole family as well as herself par disguising as a boy and running off to war to do something that in all likelihood would probably not work (luckily it did). Pocahontas, LIKE AURORA AND SNOW, was told specifically to stay away from the strangers, but no, she's too interested (this is the "wise" one, too), even when John clearly does not look peaceful and friendly when he aims his gun at her (and yeah, the cliff thing).

I don't think I even need to go into Ariel's territory, lol, just that her foolish behavior is defending to death. She "acts like a teenager"! Okay? That's an excuse? Well, guess what? She's older and knows better than Snow White, isn't sheltered like her, so what is her excuse? toi can only use "SHE'S JUST A KID, LEAVE HER ALONE!!!" as a a valid argument for so long. Snow White and Aurora act like teenagers but no, they're simply idiots. Disney fan double standards!

Anyway, why so much hate for Snow doing what she is good at (ie housekeeping)? When a woman chooses to be a professional maid ou cook ou daycare teacher she is making a choice like radical feminists say they want for women, yet when a woman chooses to do that for her own family (in Snow’s case, it was kind of both a professional job as well as for family), she is anti-feminist, weak, a doormat, etc. Such irrational hypocrisy and double standards! Really, she was a resourceful organizer, a business-savvy girl, and an enticing chef. What’s horrible about being good at cleaning? I wish I myself was that good. I barely have energy and patience to pick up my shoes after work. Is it "empowering" and progressive to live in squalor? What is so horrifying about living for others rather than the self?

Overall, I think it’s interesting that Snow White seems to be the kind of person people either l’amour ou hate. Barely ever any neutral opinions. She’s such an icone of feminine beauty, optimism, traditional womanhood, everything that stands in stark contrast with everything our rebellious, me-first culture holds dear. Today, if toi don’t act like a man with boobs, toi are weak and unworthy of respect. If toi respond to abuse with gracious love, toi are a doormat. If toi take care of a family ou pursue traditionally feminine activities, toi set feminism back 100 years and deserve no less than scorn. This totally defeats the purpose of real feminism, the kind our (Christian, I might add) foremothers in women’s rights wanted. It’s even against seconde wave feminism. Do any of toi who hold this belief realize how incredibly sexist and anti-women it is? It is also sexist to men to imply their help is offensive and degrading to women but the other way around, is good.

Frankly, I wish plus women weren’t so afraid to be feminine anymore ou jouer la comédie so threatened par traditional femininity (and for that matter, traditional manhood and chivalry), that we’d all try to have plus grace and forgiveness and patience like the original heroines, who are, sadly, far better than they are ever donné credit for. Their kind of humble attitudes strike our culture in the face; it does not know what to make of those with servants’ hearts. People who see modest, gentle women and insult them are losers. Not in the “HAHA LOSER FAIL” sense, but in the sense that they see they are not strong enough to try to succeed and become better people than they are, and mock people who do try. It’s “too hard” for them, so they try to drag down the winners to their level. Hey, misery loves company!

I hope this helps ou at least comforts fellow Snow White fans, ou anyone who likes the old girls ou relates to them more. I truly wish they made ‘em like they used to (Eilonwy and Jane Porter are pretty good ones, though.) Lots of these points were borrowed ou inspired par waltdisneyconfessions ou an interesting thread on the SWAT7D board at imdb.com.
So, with this topic on whether ou not Elsa should be gay has been very populaire over the internet, I felt it was time to tell toi my opinion on this topic.

Before toi get disgusted with me ou anything, I have no problem with the LGBT community. In fact, my best friend is gay, and we often talk about boys and "ship" each other.

Now, there are a lot of reasons I think Disney should wait and make an original gay princess instead of making Elsa gay, I mean the main reason is I see Elsa as having no interest in romance- whether it's a male ou female. I would much rather have a sequel centering around...

 Who will play Belle?
Who will play Belle?
So, I have been hearing from many people over their disagreements about Emma Watson's casting as Belle. So, I thought that I would write this article about it if she wasn't cast at all, first no hard feelings to any Emma Watson fans out there (including myself) ou to the actress herself. So here are my liste of actresses.

1. Anne Hathaway

I first heard her sing in Les Miserables, she blew everybody away with her rendition of 'I Dreamed a Dream', she's a marvelous singer in her own rights and I'm glad she's a talented actress!

2. Keira Knightley

I remember doing a vote regarding this 6 years ago...

Who's chant voice do toi choose? Jasmine?
Who's singing voice do you choose? Jasmine?
So, this song has been covered par a few artists, like Lucy Hale par turning it into a country version. Then, another Disney étoile, star sang it, it is none other than Lea Salonga herself! Are toi ready for a battle between Team Salonga and Team Menzel? Here we go!

Idina Menzel

While I enjoy her version, she's a bit pitchy in certain parts. Although at some parts she's very emotional and I like that, because she's very ominous like Elsa and I'm glad that I like her version.

Lea Salonga

Many of toi know that she was the chant voice of Mulan and Jasmine, when I heard her version. I thought that she sounds even better than Idina! I would not actually mind her voicing Elsa anyway.
But I guess that they don't want Elsa to sound like jasmin and Mulan!

Conclusion

While both of them are good singers, I would say that Lea is the best singer out of these two!
 Mulan?

 ou Elsa, Disney's Idol?
Or Elsa, Disney's Idol?

Since it isn't so much left until Christmas I decided to write a few articles here on that theme, not sure how many I'll do, but here's the first one. toi may not remember this song, but link in case toi haven't heard the song. Anyway originally the song had the 6 first Disney Princesses chant the song, but I decided to redo the song a bit par adding 6 new princesses and their parts has new lyrics. I decided to exclude Merida, so the new parts will be dedicated to Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Anna and Elsa. I'll write on each part which princess that has that part, anyway hope you'll...

What I will write will be similar to what I wrote on the last article. Most of my opinions are the same except for Aladdin. I wanted to write an updated article because I finally rewatched Aladdin. Please no rude comments. Enjoy!

12. Brave- I despise this movie I really don't like Merida. While she may be a strong I think she is just rude and annoying. The film is so forgettable. I haven't seen the film in about 4 years and I don't plan on seeing it again.

12. Frozen- As many of toi know, like Rebelle I detest this movie. The characters are very irritating & the movie was trying way too hard...

Charm-the Real Feminine Mystique:
"A girl need not have perfect features nor an outstanding figure to be popular. But she should have charm. As Sir James Barrie had Maggie say in his play, What Every Woman Knows, 'If toi have it, toi don't need to have anything else; and if toi don't have it, it doesn't much matter what else toi have.'

Once toi have acquired charm, you'll probably never lose it. Especially after toi have discovered how much happier your life is because toi are considered to be that charming girl down the street.

To be charming toi need not to be any particular age, weight ou height...

My Favorite: "When You Wish Upon A Star" Score into the Whistle as the Castle Builds Itself Magically, Ending with Walt's Signature Logo
Inspired par link, who did an amazing job(! <3), I really wanted to do my own version with favori Openings. I actually really l’amour the original fairy tale concept of the Disney Princesses and I l’amour the openings that give a plus magical and fairy tale kind of feel. (By the way, I am primarily trying to stick to the first 2-4 minutes.) So here is my ranking of the DP film openings, I hope toi guys enjoy this light read! :D

12. Frozen: La Reine des Neiges Heart/Ice Opening
I personally found this to be uninteresting and irrelevant to the film's magic, fairy tale and princesses (mostly) in the film. No explanation...

I, myself only knew 7 out of 14. Who knows, toi might know plus than me ou know less than me. Either way enjoy lire and absorb the knowledge!

Trivia

1) Production designer Richard Vander Wende devised a simple color scheme for the film, inspired par its desert setting. Blue (water) stands for good, red (heat) for evil, and yellow (sand) is neutral. For example, the villainous Jafar is clad in blacks and reds, while the virtuous jasmin wears blue. Another example is in the Cave of Wonders, where the lamp's chamber is blue, and the ruby that tempts Abu is bright red.

2) jasmin was originally...

Here's my quick top10 favoris of Disney Princess movie songs. I get stuck to a new tune ou lyrics far easily, if its hummable and peppy especially. I like listening to songs and don't have particular fixed tastes in genres. Though i find, i tend to gravitate towards pop, rock and Indian music. Very rarely I enjoy classical music, although some that I l’amour become my all time favoris and they don't die-out. I guess that's how classic musique is. Anyways, this is my current liste of haut, retour au début 10 favrorites songs from DP movies, it keeps changing for sure as I déplacer onto newer songs.

.... ou Are They? I keep hearing this massive distortion that Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora and sometimes others are "unrealistically perfect". Well first of all, they're not actually "perfect" but yes they strive for it and come pretty close. The number one reason? The earlier DPs were made in a time where families were still valued as well as good morals and they were on their best behavior in front of children, hoping that the kids would learn to embrace positive traits and reject negative traits so they would be plus positive people. They cared plus about well-roundedness, being modest...

Okay, so I have come across a lot of criticism against Merida that she is childish, rude, reckless, selfish and what not. But since she's my 2nd favori princess, i'd like to put up a case in her favor for people to consider and see her in better light. I have tried to dissect the movie scenes, probed into possible perspective on various minor details that may have been overlooked.

Why she isn't sophisticated as others:
She no doubt loves both her mother and father, but Merida takes off a part of feisty, loud and unapologetically honest side from her father. She loves to fight with him, laughing...

The saddest moments from DP films that made me cry and most often they still do. Some are close to cœur, coeur while some are so well enacted and animated that i'm moved par the simplicity of emotions.

13. 3 good fées put the entire kingdom to sleep:
Despite their best of efforts, they lose Aurora to the spell and the only way to make things work is to put the entire kingdom to sleep, waking only when she awakens. It makes me sad to see them blame themselves for this loss. It doesn't make me cry though, but yes, it puts me in a sad mood.

12. Cendrillon crying in the forest:

I got this idea when I learned that at one point, Disney actually was using some of the princesses in cause advertisements and it got me thinking: If each of the Disney Princesses wanted to select a cause/charity to contribute to, which would it be?

Snow White- Senior Citizens: Snow White ends up homeless after running away from the evil Queen and she was fortunate that the 7 dwarfs took her in. This is why I think she would want to help senior citizens the way she did for the dwarfs and the way that they helped her (although they were not senior, they were getting close).

Cinderella- Animal...

So I've been lire that the "Prettiest Princess" ranking is sort of like a right of passage article that all of the fans here on fanpop do so I figured it was time for my own. Instead of just doing a physical beauty ranking, I wanted to do an global, ensemble beauty ranking instead. I personally see ranking women based only on their physical beauty as objectifying them so I am kind of confused that it's not looked at that way here on fanpop? (Not saying this to judge ou condone others but just out of genuine curiosity and confusion considering the way some fans have reacted to perceived objectification...
