-sapherequeen- As for my own views on abortion; I am mainly against abortion. Only for it under these circumstances; Mother's life is in critical danger or if the baby was suffering from a severe disorder that could prevent life outside the womb (although I may not consider abortion in these situations for myself).

Ninja-Kitten When I was 11, I wanted to do a speech on abortion, the principal wouldn't let me. Not because abortion is a touchy subject, but because I am pro-choice and she told me I was wrong. When I sat in my school auditorium listening to the finalists give their speeches, I watched a friend of mine give a speech on abortion with a pro-life view. BTW I just watched the "Interview with a Pro-Choice Student" vid that came up under related vids, and she was AWFUL. And then she ran away from the challenge. If I'm ever in that situation, I hope I can be a better activist than she.

-sapherequeen- Well, your teacher was being exceedingly unfair, perhaps even a bit ignorant. It appears to have been an event in your school where every student has the right to his/her opinion, and to express his/her opinion in his/her speech. Not to mention that a child's (sorry to call you that, but I see eleven-year-olds as still children xD) viewpoints shouldn't be discouraged in such ways. Well, I'm happy that you stood by what you believed to this day :) And I know what you mean, I saw the video right after this one. To me, it was a typical scenario where a strongly opinionated person just didn't know how to back up what she says. -_- *sighs* EDIT: Additional words.

bri-marie Regardless of my own opinion, I have to respect such a young girl who spoke up (and intelligently!) and voiced her views, despite people telling her not to. She knew what she was talking about, she did the research. She stood up and spoke out. Man, she's gonna go places.
