I remember visiting this website once...
It was called And in that m o m e n t, I L o v e d him
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Enny, Egyptian, Crazy about Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert
Shows: TVD, OUAT, Teen Wolf, Grey\'s Anatomy, Castle, Friends, Buffy the vampire slayer
I’m not sure this is what’s going to happen, this is nothing more than my own speculation for what’s coming up for Delena from 6x05 to 6x07 based on several parts of the synopsis and spoilers
The reason I’m writing this is because I got REALLY tired of seeing everyone attacking Elena for every single choice she makes, no one understands that the pain she felt after Damon’s death was
, she did NOT want to take drugs and hallucinate a relationship with him and be ‘pathetic’ like some people called her, and she certainly did NOT want to forget all about him so she can ‘makeout with collage boys’ like others said
She’s trying to deal with this void his death left inside her but she obviously can’t win, if she can’t move on she’s pathetic, when she finds a way to move on she doesn’t love him enough
And what I think is coming up for her is probably going to get her more hate, specially from Damon stans
- From the extended promo of 6x05 we can all see that Damon and Bonnie will find a way to activate Kai’s device and open a way back home, but before the portal (or whatever it is) is opened something like an invisible energy jolts between them sending Bonnie backwards and she falls to the ground, and before she or Damon is able to do anything the white light takes Damon away … So we know Damon gets back home without Bonnie next episode, Probably by the very end
- We know from the synopsis that Elena will ask Liam out next episode, she’ll invite him to the corn-maze party
So I guess we can see here that despite Elena knowing now that she was madly in love with Damon, she’s not going to run to Alaric asking him to return those memories and wallow back in her grief, she’s obviously going to give herself a chance to live the new life she chose to have
And let me be completely honest , I do believe that even after Damon gets back Elena won’t ask Alaric to give her memories back, which I think will happen in 6x06
- “Elena is forced to deal with the consequences of her actions (she will find out Damon’s back), (….). Lastly, Damon is determined to take matters into his own hands when he receives some upsetting news(probably trying to get Bonnie back)” 6x06 synopsis
Think about it, put yourself in compelled!Elena’s shoes for a couple of minutes, you wake up one morning knowing you hate a certain person, and then everyone is telling you you were madly in love with him!!
Someone you remember as a person who liked to torture people
Do you think it would be easy for you to know the person that you remembered this way was your soulmate?!! No matter what others told you about how he changed, wouldn’t you wonder how the two of you were happy together?! Did you change him into a good person or did HE CHANGE YOU into a monster too, or someone who would overlook or tolerate his terrible acts?!!
Alaric didn’t give Elena the bad memories of Damon, she may not remember the good in him and only have horrible memories but those are REAL memories
Wouldn’t you at least need time, hesitate to get the memories that will give the person who did those horrible deeds all that power over you
And that someone was not just your soulmate, but you described him to yourself as
You know you loved him too deeply that even though you experienced a lot of grief over many loved ones, losing him was different … you didn’t know how to live in a world he wasn’t in
And it turned you into a monster; you fell off the deep end
I do believe Elena would probably choose her current stable life over getting her memories back
Because the unknown –specially with those odds- is scary as hell
But I also think that her memories will start coming back on it’s own (without Alaric breaking the compulsion) in 6x07 … and when she starts to feel it again – the love she has for Damon- everything changes

And that would also be WAY MORE INTERESTING AND ROMANTIC than Alaric just giving her her memories back
