I agree too also, how could Spike ruin the show. I could image how much it would cause James Marsters and Joss Whedon's feelings right now. Spike didn't ruin the show at all, James Marsters is a great actor for playing his character. Besides if theres no Spike on the show, there will be no Spuffy or the show wouldn't be as funny. Mean don't get wrong but Xander and Giles are funny too but Spike is way much funnier than them two.LOL

First of all I have to say how much I disagree with this guy and love Spike.

Secondly (and this sounds like such a patronising defensive fan thing to say, but I think it's true) does anyone else feel like this guy doesn't really get the show and hasn't seen much? Not because he dislikes Spike, I know a few big fans who do, but the thing he says about the writers copping out by not making Spike redeem himself.

I feel like the writers can't win. If they do it this way it's a cop out but if they'd had him too sorry and soulful they'd have been insulted for repeating the Angel plot. Either way there's someone not happy.
And personally I thought it made more sense having Spike react like he did

I love Spike. He brought humor and someone for Buffy to be with when Angel left. I agree with adwbuffy. The guy who wrote the article is a total psycho.

as a very huge buffy fan and even bigger bangel fan, and dislike the character of spike i have to agree that he didnt ruin buffy. in my opionion, i dont think buffy was ruined in the first place, some characters i really disliked and wanted to go, not tara cause she was my fav witch other than willow. but i agree, he never ruined it. james masters played spike the best he was able, it didnt ruin buffy.

This person has no clue what they're talking about and for the record, I really enjoyed Season 7. Spike was my favorite charcater,he was much more interesting then Angel. He was interesting, funny, badass, and really sweet to Buffy in Season 7.

I agree with quite a few things here. I don't think Spike ruined the show but he became much less interesting to me once he fell in love with Buffy. I thought he was more interesting on Angel.
