Every season is a new theme, just so you're aware. Anyway, Jack had recovered from being exposed thanks to his daughter Kim who gave him an organ of hers I think. They ended the season with her in the hospital room with Jack after having her tell the doctor she wanted to save him. The suivant jour (season 8) had started off with Jack staying in a place in NYC while playing with his granddaughter.

Renee we had left off seeing her going into an interrogation room getting ready to torture the main man behind that day's attacks. The suivant jour (season 8), which is also a an ou so ahead of the précédant season, we had seen that she had been fired from the FBI for almost killing the man in the précédant season.
