With Stefan, Elena was strong she fought for herself and her loved ones. He accepted her choices and respected her plus than anything. They still l’amour each other and are soulmates. With Stefan the problems came from the outside, from the threats. With Damon, Elena is not respected, she is not donné a choice. Damon is abusive, even with Elena. Their relationship is toxic to the point where Elena looks depressed all the time. Their problem is from the inside of the relationship.
