Yu Yu Hakusho is not a very new animé but in my opinion its one of those things that toi can rewatch and its still has the same feel to it.
The Story
The story is about Yusuke Urameshi who gets runover par a car and dies, but his death was unplaned and the afterlife don´t have a place for him so instead they give him the possibility to come back to life as Spirit Detective.
The position of Spirit Detective puts Yusuke in a number of fights agains demons and corrupt humans and gives his live a sort of meaning since he hates being lectured and is constantly "misunderstood" par teachers and adults in general.
The Characters
The four main characters of Yu Yu Hakusho is the humans Yusuke Urameshi and Kazuma Kuwabara and the demons Kurama and Hiei.
All these characters are great as they all have different personalities and they work very well together.
One of the things that makes them intresting is that they all have kinda a bad guy feeling to them but they fight to save their loved ones ou for something important to them.
The Supportive cast consists of Koenma the son of King Enma, Botan the Shinigami ou Grim reaper and Keiko Yusuke´s "girlfriend".
The animation Style
Since the animé aired in Japon between 1992 and 1995 the style is not the best but it gives it a classic feel so it dosen´t bother me that much.
The English Voice Cast
Justin Cook - Yusuke
Justin does a great job with not only Yusuke´s punk side but also his heroic ou friendly side.
Christopher Sabat - Kuwabara
Chris Sabat who many people know as Piccolo ou Vegeta from Dragonball Z fits this character perfectly, but at first this character just sounded annoying but now i have learned to live with it.
John Burgmeier - Kurama
John Burgmeier is know to animé fans as the new english voice of Tien Shinhan and a few other roles.
He does Kurama´s voice perfectly and he really sounds meanacing when Kurama turns into Yoko.
Chuck Huber - Hiei
Hiei is voiced par Chuck Huber who Dragonball fans know as Emperor Pilaf, Garlic .Jr ou Android 17 to name a few.
Hiei has one of the best voices in the montrer Chuck delivers every line both in a menacing and humorous way.
The Verdict
The Animé gets a very solid 8/10 since its not a perfect story and it has its flaws, even so its an amazing animé that i highly recommend to anyone who likes the supernatrual.
