i don't think they are counted as the same card,they look different which means they are different cards. i mean think about it, mai always plays them, that means she's got alot of them (9) actually.

The reason is, inside the rules, it states toi cannot have plus than three of the same monsters ou plus than three monsters that are treated as the same card.

An example of this would be Umi and A Legendary Ocean. toi cannot have 3 umi, and one Legendary Ocean.
