The door to the terminal opened slowly, as Megan landed the bioship in the big landing unit.
We all got out of the ship and headed to the Mission Room, where Erica sat at the computer, staring at nothing.
"Guys!" She greeted, hugging Robin, then looking at me. "That was fast!"
I showed her my scroll. "She didn't have time to teach me." I didn't miss her quick frown before she looked at it.
She smiled, then gave it back to me. "You have to practice this everyday, starting tomorrow."
KF looked at the mur clock. "I have to get to school!" he flashed out of the mountain and headed for his school.
Aqualad looked at me intently. "Do toi go to school, Jeannette?"
"In fifth grade, they thought I was too smart so they sent me to high school early. Now that I'm done, I'm planning to go to college."
Superboy groaned. "Lucky, I just started!"
Erica didn't miss our "Central Park Zoo" t-shirts we had bought in New York.
"Umm, guys, can I talk to Erica for a bit?"
They nodded, then went into the lounge.
Erica smiled warmly. "What do toi want to talk about?"
I took a deep breath. "Are you...mad, that I got your powers?"
"No, not all." Her smile was twitching.
"Well, Robin is!" I told her about Robin's rant two days ago, and all she did was stare at her feet.
"Well," she a dit finally, "I'm not MAD, Jenny. I'm just...what's the word? Sad, that I don't have my powers anymore." She put her hand on my shoulder. "But that shouldn't stop toi from learning. I mean, every Avatar is bound to die sometime."
"I guess you're right," I admitted sadly.
She typed something into the computer. "You're off today."
"Why?" I asked.
"Batman scheduled a doctor's appointment for toi at étoile, star Labs. Since toi have very rare blood, he wants a doctor to give toi a very special Tetanus shot."
Ew, shots. Not my thing. "Doesn't Superman's doctor work at étoile, star Labs?"
She nodded. "Your blood if so special that even Superman's doctor had to take a look at it."
"Am I going right now?" I asked.
"Yep. I already set the bioship coordinates for étoile, star Labs, so toi don't have to drive."
"Thanks, Erica." I went to my room in the lounge and got into a new outfit, then headed for the bioship.
I didn't know why I was so nervous: It was the shot, ou the fact that I had to drive the bioship par myself.
