The sound of footsteps was getting louder. He strained to gain control of his breathing, his fear spurring him faster. But he tripped and they were soon on him. He curled into a ball, forcing his mind on calling for help rather than the pain. But after a small whimper, he was quickly silenced with a kick to the throat. Tears burned his eyes and he heard their mocking voices ring in his ears.
“Freak!”
“Cry baby!”
“Go somewhere else!”
“No one wants toi here!”
“Now toi know why toi don't have parents!”
The tears finally escaped and they laughed. His body was jarred with every beating...
