This idea just randomly appeared in my head and I really had to write it... It's like an AU kinda, so don't be offended South, please!
Becca sped down the road, following the white streak emitting from a red blaze in the sky. The sky writer was her compass, one she had no chance of communicating with since getting the urgent call at the mountain, and therefore had to follow blindly, faithfully.
She veered off the road onto a dirt path and the red flare Becca had been following for the past heure since leaving the highway suddenly slanted it's path downward. She braked to a stop; the red ball of flame rocketed down like a falling comet and hit the ground a hundred yards ahead, hard enough to make the ground shake. The girl leapt out of the car as the fallen étoile, star stood from a crouch, smoke rising off his clothes.
"Good, toi came," Blaze stated the obvious.
"It sounded urgent," she replied. Blaze nodded to her and started walking toward the woods to the left of the car, "Let's go, then."
"Can toi at least tell me where we're going?" Becca demanded. Without answering Nic took off into the trees. Not one to be left in the dust, Becca hurried after him.
They jogged in silence, fireboy leading the way with the witch just behind. They moved swiftly, silently, there soles barely making a sound on the soft earth of theft rest floor. Birds overhead took no notice of the humans, continuing their echoing calls to each other obliviously. There was no visible path through the trees, over decaying logs, past a babbling brooke, but Nic continued vers l'avant, vers l’avant without hesitation. Becca began to wonder of there even was a destination to their seemingly endless endeavor.
The possibility became increasingly probable, and Becca was about to question her white rabbit, but stopped short as she stepped out of the trees into a clearing. ou perhaps it was plus of a stumble; the woods ended so quickly the sudden softer, grassier earth caught her par surprise.
In a sweep of a glance of the bordering trees rising up around the carpet of green, minisule papillons fluttering about colorful patches of flowers, and the serene calm of the situation where she had been expecting fire, shiny sharp objects, and utter chaos brought Becca to one conclusion: "We just stepped into the Twilight Zone. Literally."
Nic only chuckled and, as if to mock her even more, strode out to the center of the meadow, and promptly flopped onto the grass.
"Blaze, what the Hell are toi doing?" Becca tried not to throw something at him. Mostly to knock some since into him.
The feu boy folded his arms behind his head, getting too comfortable for her liking. "Blaze? Why so formal, love?" He had the audacity to sound amused.
"Oh, iunno, maybe it's because we're supposed to be on a mission?"
"And that we are."
"No, we're not. ou am missing the threat in this scene of peace and no-threat? Unless toi count Bambi as a threat, since I'm half expecting him to trot through here with that obnoxious rabbit at his heels."
"I never did like that movie," Nic replied, ignoring the annoyance in her tone. "Talking animaux always give me the creeps."
"Seriously?" Becca tried to put a heat in the single word that not even the feu boy could miss. Which he thankfully did not, and sat up with a reluctant sigh. "Fine, but at least help me up. I think I pulled something when I dropped."
The girl rolled her eyes and walked over, then offered her hand. He took her hand, and before she even had a seconde to gasp, he tightened his grip, pulled her off her feet, and had rolled on haut, retour au début of the witch, his elbows braced on either side of her head to hommage himself up.
"Nic," her voice was dead calm.
"There it is," his eyes dancing with the satisfaction that his tone hinted at, "Much better than Blaze."
"Get. Off." Becca was suddenly finding it very hard to breath. It had little to do with the light weight of his skin pressing against hers.
"Is that really what toi want?" He asked. It almost sounded genuine, like he actually cared what the girl wanted.
"What do toi think?" She felt she needed to be reminded herself.
"I think toi work too hard," he admitted matter-of-factly. "The stress of life can get so... Stressful." Nic waited for her to interrupt, and when she did not, "You and I have a lot in common toi know. For one thing, we are both the leaderly type, the kind to be at the head of the fight, toi would call us true warriors if toi will.
"But the thing about a warrior is that it can be damn lonely. The fight is where we put our focus, our hearts, but that doesn't mean our souls don't ache for a simpler love."
"Love..." Becca narrowed her eyes, feeling the dizziness subside as the walls fought to stay standing. "What do toi really want?"
"I want toi to be happy," he breathed. "I want toi to feel loved." He dipped his head closer to hers. "And I would really like to Kiss toi right now."
"Then do it," the words let themselves out through some crack in a door.
Nic smiled and met her lips. Becca drew her arms from her side and wrapped them around his neck. A moment later, the boy found himself on his back, starring up into the earthen eyes of a sly witch.
"The urgent call, jaunt thought the woods, cute little Bambi meadow: it was all very sweet of you, Blaze," she praised, "but toi forgot one detail." She leaned closer and whispered in his ear. "I am always on top."
The witch dipped her head and continued to Kiss the feu boy.
Please don't bite me; don't hurt me; don't eat me! I'm sorry!
