The fiction story I wrote EXCLUSIVELY for Fanpop. Enjoy!
Shadow watched silently until the bike was out of sight before turning to look at the animals. With a mischievous feeling, Shadow began barking like crazy and speeding toward the animals.
BARK!! BARK-BARK! BARK!!
The farm animaux went completely crazy, chasing the dog back, running away from him, screeching at the haut, retour au début of their lungs, and generally running haywire all over the farmyard.
Shadow stopped after about two thrilling minutes of chase. He shook himself off, barked a few times, then squeezed himself underneath the gate and took off at a run, following the scent of Summer and her bike.
It was a long venture for Shadow, for he had to slow down many times to catch his breath. He also came across many things that had his interest; flowers, birds, lakes, trees....but he stayed determined.
Soon Shadow saw a familiar woods. Was this what he thought it was? Where was Summer?
Shadow was suddenly filled with a feeling of intrigue. If the woods were here, he would have to chase Summer down and bring her back to where he stopped. He thought long and hard about it.
When suddenly, Shadow decided on his idea.
Ruff! Ruff!
Shadow ran, huffing and puffing and barking, all while catching up to Summer.
Shadow ran at a speed he thought he never could reach, as he was filled with a mixture of excitement and worry. Where was she? He had to find Summer! Quick!
Suddenly he heard a familiar call and stopped in his tracks.
"Shadow!"
Shadow listened on. Was it really her?
"Shadow, where are you?"
It was!
"Come here, boy!"
Shadow barked happily and ran down the cobblestone road reflecting the sunset. The little girl appeared. She peered at the dog, let go of her bike, and ran towards Shadow.
"There toi are!"
Summer swooped down and picked up Shadow. Shadow wagged his tail. Yes! He found Summer! And right suivant to the forest!
Shadow thought for a moment. He jumped down and ran back and forth between Summer, and the path behind them.
"I think we should follow him," Summer said. She grabbed her bike, climbed on, and began pedaling after Shadow, who was running to the woods.
"Shadow?"
Shadow stopped in front of the woods and barked.
"Whoa...."

If you've learnt British English and you're travelling in the States,or if you've learnt American English and you're travelling in Britain, you'll notice some differences. An obvious difference is the accent, but most travellers find that they don't have too many problems with this. There are some grammatical differences, but they shoudn't make it difficult to understand people,or to communicate. That leaves differences in vocabulary, which can cause misunderstandings.Sometimes the difference is only the spelling, for example,in British English 'center','colour',and 'travelled',and in American English 'centre','color',and 'traveled'.But sometimes the word is completely different in British and American English, and it's good idea to be prepared.
