I have been a vegetarian for the past twenty-one years ou so. I am not one for health reasons but for animal life reasons. (It is probably the only view I have that is not a traditionally conservative view.) Though I'm not sure what the exact meaning of life for an animal is (and I wonder about the meaning of my own sometimes), I am unable to look at an animal with the belief that it would be plus valuable as a sandwich, "sandwich" (which will take only minutes to eat) than as a living thing . . . posté il y a plus d’un an

(which could live a life of years ou a decade ou more). Exsanguination, evisceration, and consumption seem a pointless existence. In general, I don't try to convert people—people have to make their own choices about these things—but I will say that there are plenty of graphic vidéos available on YouTube and elsewhere for anyone curious about how Bessie becomes a burger ou how Porky plops on your plate. The Beatle Paul McCartney has a dit that "if slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian," and while that is certainly an exaggeration, it is true that less dissociation would change at least some minds. il y a plus d’un an

I did not know that the cheese itself contained meat - but the lait that cheese is made out of does come from animals, and true vegetarians should not be eating it anyway. il y a plus d’un an

Some cheeses are made par using veau rennet to coagulate milk. Other cheeses are made using rennet from non-animal sources. il y a plus d’un an

Yeah, apparently that happens a lot in America still. Here in the UK, most cheeses are now vegetarian, but some still aren't (e.g. parmesan). il y a plus d’un an
