I don't hate her. I used to hate Jacob 'cos he threatened their relationship so much, but now he's cool.

I like Bella. I can see how people would hate her though. the way it seems like she's playing with Edward/Jacob's emotions. But it's not intentional so it's not fair to hate her, she's trully just confused.

umm.. bella's the narrator rite?? i mean if u hate her then most likely u hate the way she looks at things. and if u hate her perspective then u hate the book.. so theres no way i hate her.. shes the perfect character for bella or whoever the narrator wud've been.

I like Bella but occasionally i skip over (in my 25th reading of course! Lol) the bits where she's alone. I just find that without Edward or Bella around, she's quite a boring character. Other than that, sure she has some decision making problems, but i think she's ok.

I love Bella. Yes, so she broke Jacob's heart - what else was she supposed to do? The very few times she's hurt Edward (I can think of...2) - one she was coerced into by Jake, the other was totally reasonable...and she later came around and sacrificed her own feelings and values to make him happy!

Bella is brave, selfless, honest, caring, humble, compassionate, unconditionally loving and fundamentally good. I think she's amazing.

It is always a mystery to me why people don't like her - I can't help suspecting that it's just jealousy. I wouldn't say that if I'd ever heard anyone give a reasonable explanation, but it just seems totally irrational.

If by selfless you mean acts compeletly stupid in dangerous times, then yeah, she's Mother Tereasa(sp?)! and as for honest, she's lied many times. Sure, she cares, but don't we all!

And I am jealous of her, but only because she gets Edward, not for any other reason. And if you take a good look around here myself and my fellow Bella haters give rational reasons and explanations for our total loathing(sp?) of Miss Swan. Thank you very much!

Hate. Now that's a word that's used so much that it's not powerful enough anymore. Loathe is the word that I would use to describe my feelings towards Bella. I love Edward and Jacob. Everything she does seems to upset Jacob. She asked Jacob to kiss her when she had Edward and she doesn't seem to care or think about Edward's feelings. She used Jacob aswell.

lol you guys are all so funny! Bella is actually one of my favorite characters. The other characters with more abilities make the story interested but they all flock to her.

Even though Bella's just human, she's strong. And although she can't always pull through everything by herself she tried to make the most of it. Do you think Bella actually wanted to fall in love with Jake, especially if she knew it was going to hurt him. Hell no! She wants to be with Edward! So you can't blame her for hurting Jake, when she got hurt just as much at the same time. Besides, she was honest with him, she told him right off the bat that she wanted Edward. I love Bella, I think she's great!

She still told Jacob that she loved him too! And look what is made him do! poor Jake! and Poor Edward because he's stuck with Bella!!!

When Bella said she loved Jake she meant as more of a friend than anything else. She didn't mean love love, she meant it like a friend love, and he misinterpreted it. I like the three of them, but Edward and Bella will end up together. Jake is free to imprint on someone else or so he says...

I really do not like her. She jumped off a cliff to hear Edward's voice? Um, what? That is selfish, stupid, and completely against feminism. And then, in Eclipse, she keeps leading Jacob on, which also annoys me. *sighs*

I like Bella, and it's not her fault that she was stuck in the middle between Jacob and Edward. She totally loves Edward, but he left her, and Bella befriend Jacob. She never had any intentions on going out with Jacob, and told Jacob straight up. Edward came back and Bella still loved him, and then Jacob made Bella kiss him or he said that he would hurt himself, and since Bella didn't want her friend to get hurt she had to do what he said.

So I like Bella, love Edward.. he's so amazing, and dislike Jacob for doing that to Bella he tricked her...

sorry for my ranting.. I thought I needed to defend Bella with so many people disliking her! :D

I mean, who doesn't have issues? I only have ONE issue with Bella and I'm fine with the rest of her. She should not have dragged him on just because she couldn't let go of him. He suffered much more than necessary and that really ticks me off.

Hate is too strong a word, but I'm not that crazy for her either. She's too needy and can't seem to really ever make up her mind when it comes to what or who she wants. That can be really annoying and it's what keeps me from getting through the books as fast as I would like to. It's really because of her character that the book has become a slow read for me.

She's a feminists worst nightmare. But she does have alot of merits too. And it helps that I LOVE Edward so I like her more by association.

I like her character and edwards and jacobs i like everyones charcter in the book their all so different i think stephenie Meyer did an amazing job with creating the characters = )

I don't see anything wrong with Bella, she fits perfectly with Edward. Although she can be stuborn sometimes, but that's what makes Bella, Bella.

Of course Bella has issues! Doesn't every 17 or 18 year old have? There might be some part to didlike or be dissapointing about Bella but, nobody is really perfect... We all have our ups and downs even Edward!

I'm not sure what I really think of Bella,I guess I'm just indifferent to her ultimately.There are lots of things that annoy me about her,but I'm not reading the books for her. :) But when it comes around to it,she's just "eh" to me.I can see where both sides are coming from though.

She's completely dependent of a man, can't do anything for herself, doesn't care about her education, friends or family and gets everything she could ever want handed to her on a silver platter, despite being undeserving of anything.
