The reason why his hair is darker (which I do prefer lighter :[) is because it would make Rob appear paler. Since he did Water for Elephants last March and throughout the summer, he became really tan. With his hair darker, they would be apply less make up. At least, that's what is being said.

I hope they will lighten it up in post, or at least add a filter that makes it look auburn-ish. We've been shorted of the hair in New Moon and Eclipse.
