*Bella’s pov*

I opened my eyes. Everything is clear. The sun shone upon me. Alice squeezed my hand slightly. I looked at her impassively. She was sitting beside me, expressionless.
“How are toi feeling?” she asked.
“So far, so good.” I whispered.
“Are toi sure you’re okay?” she asked anxiously as she helped me to sit on the bed.
“I’m fine, no harm done. What happened?”
She took a deep breath.
She looked at me vacantly, as if she doesn’t want to answer, afraid that I won’t be able to believe her. I’ve been with Alice for a long time, enough for me to know whether she’s hiding something ou not. She looked away as she released my hand.
“You fainted.” She murmured.
I looked at her. My face was asking, confused.
We stared at each other for a long minute, while I was lire her face. She looked back at me. We both know that she can’t read minds like what Edward can do, but she can see the future. I bet she knew that I won’t believe her.
“O…K, Alice.” I said. “Not funny,”
She stared at me like she was really expecting my response.
“You think I’m kidding? No I’m not, Bella.” She muttered.
I stared at her. Her eyes were dark, thirsty. Her lips pursed as she looked at my hand.
“Are toi serious?” I asked.
She nodded as she finally met my gaze... I noticed her expression. She wants to tell me something… but so afraid to.
“What’s wrong?” I asked anxiously as I looked at her worried face.
Her face was still expressionless.
“I think toi need to hunt first. toi look thirsty.” I whispered.
“No, I’m fine Bella. Don’t worry about me.” She a dit softly.
I was about hug her, to comfort but she cut me off.
“Bella, there’s something that I wanted to tell you. toi know? It doesn’t matter if toi don’t care. I just want toi to know, b-because it bothers me so much.” She whispered.
I waited. She took a deep breath like she’s searching for the right words.
Finally, she started.
” I know what happened between toi and Ed – “
I cut her off.
“I don’t want to talk about it Alice, Please.” I a dit sorrowfully.
“Bella, I just want toi to know.” She whispered, pleading.
I can see in her eyes that she’s really sincere so …What else can I do?
“Okay, Fine. Go ahead.”
“Bella, how much do toi l’amour my brother? How much do toi know him?” - She hesitated - “Listen…. Ashley was Edward’s high school best friend. Their parents were close Friends and they wanted them to be together, they’ve decided to make an arranged marriage. The news spread quickly to their whole town and everyone believed that they are fated to be together. But Edward treated her as his own sister, even though Ashley wanted to be Edward’s wife. Since Carlisle changed Edward, he never heard news about her until Ashley’s mother told him that she’s dead…”
I was speechless.
I can’t speak.
I can’t even open my mouth.
“When he saw Ashley, he was stunned. He was La Reine des Neiges because he can’t believe that she was alive, until she showed him the scar, the scar of a vampire’s bite. He was surprised. That’s why he didn’t even realize that she was s’embrasser him...” She continued.
I looked at her, carefully. I don’t know what to say. It’s like someone was holding my throat to stop me from speaking.
“Oh.” That’s the only word that came out from my mouth.
She glanced back at me.
“Bella, think about it. Please. I’m sorry to disappoint you. I’ve decided to tell toi everything because I was... I mean…I…” she didn’t finish the sentence. She covered her face as if she really wanted to cry.
I touched her shoulder to comfort her. She stood up, grabbing her bag as she touched my face.
“I’m going. Please think about it. He can’t live without you. Please. “- She paused -”... Can’t toi see? toi are the only lucky girl in Edward’s life. He never wanted anything but you, He never wishes for anything but toi and he never dreamed for anything but you. Do toi think he can do that thing? I don’t think so. Please. I hope toi understand.” She pleaded before she walked away.
I can’t move.
I covered my face.
I don’t understand.
My mind was full of different things.
Was that true?
Did he really Kiss her?
Did he really want me?
Was Alice telling the truth?
I was astonished.
Am I wrong?
How can I do that?
How stupid I am?

The suivant day, I didn’t attend classes. I stayed at home, thinking about Alice’s words. I lay down on the bed, looking at the window as I remembered Edward’s memories, when he used to climb up the window just to be with me.
All of a sudden, Jake appeared from nowhere.
“Wow! Someone is dreaming.” He a dit while looking at the ceiling, to the door, to the window, to the closet and back to the ceiling, like he was observing the room.
I took a deep breath.
“Jake, privacy is a privilege.” I said, frankly.
“Who cares?”
I gasped, shocked. I didn’t realize that he would say that. Jake really changed a lot since he had imprinted on my daughter.
“Please?”
He shook his head.
“I’m begging you, please?”
He shook his head again.
“Please leave me ALONE.” I said. My voice was calm, didn’t want to get mad.
But he shook his head again, insulting.
“Jake, you’re getting on my nerves.” I yelled, irritated.
“I know.” He said, relaxed.
“Aren’t toi going out the room?” I asked.
“No. I don’t want to.”
Don’t toi want me to have a moment of Silence?
“No. I want to chat with you.”
“Don’t toi want me to rest?”
“No. I want toi to be distracted.”
“So, toi want me to die?”
“No. I want toi to live...”
I can’t control myself so I blurted out his name...
“JACOB BLACK!”
He looked at me, smiling.
“You need something?” he asked.
Because of so much irritation, my hands balled into fists.
I screamed loudly. He covered his ears, laughing.
I lay back down, covering my face with a pillow.
Can’t I have a human minute?
Pretend to forget that I’m a vampire.
