Prologue

Kayla has grown stronger in her two years of living in Forks. Her abilities are growing jour par jour and are becoming even plus powerful. Soon she will know just how powerful. Her premonitions weaken her, they drain her of energy as she sleeps and tire her during the day. This will pass eventually but until then... Kayla finds her premonitions very distressing. They aren’t exactly nice to her. They don’t give her a warning. She could go to sleep one night and have a normal dream, the suivant night she has a premonition. She could go through the whole day, vision free, and then BAM she has one while driving. See?
Despite what Charlie said, her premonitions aren’t exactly normal. Kayla is not normal. She is third human, third Azdi and potentially third vampire. The book on ‘How To Be A Normal Azdi What To Expect’ does not apply to her.
Remember that.
Kayla, at the present moment, is suffering from two types of premonitions as described above. Sleep visions and whenever they want visions.
toi might wonder why they tire her. It’s like Kayla has been violently wrenched from her own body par some sort of ‘hand’ and dropped somewhere in the future and then whenever it Suits – Avocats sur Mesure the ‘hand’ she’s picked back up and dumped back in her own body. Not nice is it.
Let’s déplacer onto the sleep premonitions.
Ever been asleep for hours but a dream toi had lasted a few minutes?
Kayla’s premonitions aren’t like hours long. They could be a couple secondes of the future of maybe five minutes. But the whole sleeping for six hours mean that she spends six hours outside her own body even if the premonition’s only two and a half minutes long! So when she goes to lit to sleep and re-energise, she doesn’t actually and then there’s the whole violently wrenched thing on haut, retour au début of it.
The, let’s say, daytime ones aren’t as draining because she isn’t spending hours outside her own body. It’s only as long as the premonition lasts.
But it does have side effects.
Obviously tiredness if it’s long, she feels kind of dizzy and has a sore head for a bit. And if these weren’t bad enough her eyes go funny. Kayla is seeing something that isn’t there and hasn’t happened yet. Although it is as if Kayla has been taken out of her own body she is still affected physically. The whites of Kayla’s eyes turn steadily red during a premonition and are still red after. It obviously fades but how do toi pass it off in the meantime?
So...how has Kayla’s life been the past year?
Can toi guess?
Her premonitions make it hard for her but she gets by. Edward worries about her and so does Charlie. Edward hopes that she will become some sort of a vampire so that her premonitions won’t tire her so. vampires don’t get tired. Whereas Charlie hopes that her premonitions will just decide already and settle.
Her wedding is being planned by....you’ll never guess.....Alice! toi would never have thought, would you? With help from Esme of course. Rosalie is not so enthusiastic. But when is she ever? Underneath Rosalie’s tough and mean exterior is someone that can actually be nice.
Carlisle plans to run tests on Kayla for any signs of vampirism when she turns eighteen. Remember Carlisle’s theory, she might be immortal when her body stops growing at eighteen. But with added venom to her system may the effects be plus than just immortality?
