I put the box on the floor carefully, I didn't know if there was anything breakable in it. I peered inside. I closed my eyes and inhaled, I was angry, I wanted her to keep things, to remind her of me, but she mustn't not have wanted to. The CD I made her in its jeweled, plastic case was sitting on top. I pulled it out and put it aside. The diamond cœur, coeur I gave her, to go with Jacob's carved wolf. The stereo from her truck, a copy of the gift Emmett, Rose and Jazz gave her for her 18th birthday, the one that I replaced. All of the notes that I left her. And a black velvet box. If I could cry I would. That last item made it really final. Like we were still together until I recieved the ring that she accepted and wore. The one that was our promise of love's symbol. How could she do this to me?
I blinked, my eyes pricking once more. I couldn't believe her. She was supposed to stay with Jacob, but she wanted to come back. Liz was better for me, than Bella was, but still. How could she confuse me so. It was bad enough that she made that dog suffer when she was with me, but to not make up her mind, that was worse. Way too painful to even think about. Liz loved me, and that was all that mattered now.
I never wanted to see Bella's face again, and I was going to banish her name from every thought I ever had, and Liz would take that place.
Her name would be in most if not all of my thoughts from now on. I grabbed the radio and crushed it. Then dropped the remains back into the empty box. I picked up the velvet box and cœur, coeur charm that belonged to my mother and then I put them in my pocket. I would give the charm to Liz tonight. I picked up the CD and crushed that too. I never wanted to play the lullaby I composed for her ever again. I would composer one for Liz.
I threw that back in the box and then I picked it up and threw it down the stairs. I walked calmly down the stairs, 5 pairs of eyes staring curiously at me. Alice glared at me. She had spent time making the case to the CD.
I picked the box back up and threw it outside, not wanting to see it. I went to the dining room and sat down beside Liz. She had just about finished her spaghetti. I took her plate and went to wash it. She followed me.
"What was that noise I heard?"
"I threw something down the stairs. I was angry, but I have something for you."
"For me,"she asked incredulously.
"Yes, a present. Do toi have any aversion to expensive gifts?"
"Depends. If the gift is jewelry ou something small, than no, but if it's a car, ou something big, than yes."
"Well then, you'll like this present."
"When can I have it?"
"Now,"I a dit reaching into my pocket and pulling out the diamond heart.
She stared at it shocked. How is that expensive? And his ex just gave that back, I don't want to wear something that she did, unless it was a really important thing to him.
"Yes, it was my mother's, she gave it to me before she died."
"How is it expensive?"
"It's actually a diamond, about 5 karots."
Her eyes bugged out a bit.
"And toi want to give it to me?"
"Of course, I l’amour you."
"As do I, so I will never take it off."
She ran up the stairs and I followed, wondering what she was up to. She wasn't thinking of what she was going to do, ou at least her thoughts were all excited and jumbled up.
She ran into my room and ran to her suitcase. She pulled out a red velvet box, it had glitter on it.
"I had this for a long time now. My mom gave this to me about 10 years ago, before she was a druggie. It was my 10th birthday."
She pulled off the lid and gently pulled a silver chain out. On the chain were several charms.
"I got two charms, one representing my dad and one for my mom. They remind me of what a happy family I used to have. So I want to add your charm, because I want to add toi to my happy family."
"Are toi proposing to me,"I asked, dumbfounded.
She was moving so fast, I mean sure, I was in l’amour with her, and vice versa, but this was going too fast.
"Only if toi want it to be."
