la saga Twilight Question

Is it me ou is Edward abusive and controlling

I can feel the hate already but I'm just going to come out and say it. Edward is a pushy controlling selfish person and soo OLD FASHION oh did I say OLD. Edward tried to kill himself in new moon he didn't think about his family how it would hurt Esmee and Carlisle and brother and sister he didn't think about Bella and how it would affected her (danger magnet) Controlling HOW he messed up Bella's car from keeping her see her friend telling her what to do and how to do thing I would has broke up with him the minute that happen but Bella's stupid soo anyway. Violence he broke the tv because Bella wants to be a vampire ripped pillows on there honeymoon and everything. He doesn't give Bella any l’espace he's creepy as hell in twilight sneak up into her room and watch her sleep serious doesn't give her no time alone. Also having his sister kid napping her that a little extreme don't know think I know some of toi guy well most are going to say his worry and stuff but fuck that. He's creepy abusive selfish immature for being a 100 and something vampire he's stupid ughh. I dislike him with a passion

Edward selfish why because he didn't think of his family when he tried to kill himself. Didn't think of how that would hurt his fosters parents ou brothers and sisters forget about them. Also controlling tell her what to do and who's her Friends are. Telling her not to see Jacob destroying her car and everything is way overboard. violet as hell breaking tv and y'all say jacob has the angry problems edward has it just as bad maybe even worst. Force her to the dance. He had jealously problem gets mad every time she brings up jacob. He acts like a baby complains all the time

I suspect this question is going to wind up getting explosions of reactions. I'm sort of surprised they haven't already started. Maybe people are in shock here.

I think he's being wayyy too overprotective so it comes off as controlling. He's never been in l’amour before---and he doesn't know what it means to be in a relationship either. He doesn't know how to be in a relationship---this is his very first one. It makes sense he has a lot to learn. Plus Bella is accident prone and involved in many accidents. She's seen too much death and heartbreak--and he wants her to be safe. I think Edward has a LOT to learn and has a lot of issues.

No I don't find him abusive ou controlling. He had never been in l’amour before,so he was experiencing that and overcoming his thirst for Bella's blood at the same time.He only wanted to kill himself AFTER Rosalie informed him Bella was dead, which was a misunderstanding. He was in Bella's room not to stalk her,but to listen to her sleeptalking since he couldn't read her mind.As for ripping pillows on their honeymoon, better the pillows than Bella's body, because pillows and tvs can be replaced, but a broken body can't.If any of his family had Lost their mate,I'm sure they would have responded in the same way,by wanting to die with them, since a vampire's mate is the reason for their existence.

I know you're entitled to your opinion, but I STRONGLY DISAGREE with Edward being abusive and controlling, because I don't find him that way at all

I think the part where he watches her sleep is just over the haut, retour au début creepy. I'd be creeped out for certain.

1. Him being old fashioned makes sense when toi consider that he was born and raised at the start of the 20th century.
2. He only attempted suicide AFTER he believed Bella had died, so how is that not considering her feelings? You're right in saying that he didn't think about his family then, though.
3. I agree with toi on the Jacob related issues - telling her she can't see him, getting Alice to "kidnap" her, damaging the car etc. He's also slightly hypocritical there. How are new loups garous too dangerous but his vampire family aren't?
4. He didn't rip the pillows (or break the bed) deliberately. It was loss of control. And better he break those than break her, right?
5. Agree with toi about breaking in to watch her sleep while they're mere acquaintances.

I think he's very controlling. Removing parts of her car and telling her who she's allowed to see is totally out of order. Also, he kept that Victoria was back for Bella which she had a right to know.
